Guests say

Guests consistently praise the Theobold Suite at Stone Cross Mansion for its beautiful decor, well-equipped kitchen, and comfortable furnishings. The property's cleanliness and maintenance are highly regarded, with many appreciating the peaceful grounds and wildlife. Its proximity to Ulverston town centre and local amenities like pubs and shops is a highlight. The addition of board games and outdoor activities adds to the enjoyment, although some guests noted intermittent Wi-Fi and a few minor maintenance issues.

The property is frequently described as immaculate, exceptionally clean, and maintained to a high standard. Only one mention of a minor issue with a fridge being turned off, which does not significantly detract from the overall perception of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its convenience to local shops, the town centre, and the Lake District. The peaceful setting and easy access to supermarkets and walking routes contribute to a positive experience.

Most reviews highlight comfortable beds and lounges, although there are a couple of mentions of uncomfortable seating and a soft mattress. The overall sentiment remains positive regarding comfort.

Facilities are generally well-received, with guests enjoying the pool table, board games, and outdoor activities. However, there are some concerns about Wi-Fi reliability, TV connectivity, and a few maintenance issues like shower pressure and plumbing, which slightly affect the score.

While guests mention welcome packages and the provision of coffee pods, teabags, and biscuits, there is not enough consistent information about gifts or additional thoughtful touches to accurately score this category. It should be noted that such amenities are appreciated but may not be guaranteed.

The building is superb and a fascinating history. There are 3 things I would suggest. 1. A proper double bed. The seam down the middle is uncomfortable for a single person. 2. An ashtray in the garden as I am a smoker. 3. A light above the pool table. We will be returning again soon!
