Even smaller kitchen items such as a cheese grater & colander also hand soap & kitchen roll were provided which you don't always find in holiday homes. Check-in was quick and easy with the key box and the caravan is in a great location at the end of the row. There is currently a bit of a building site a few metres away, to the side of the caravan which didn't really bother us but did wake us up each morning so it may be worth mentioning this in the listing for those who are more fussy. Generally noise levels on the site were low, nice views and lots of grassy areas for the dogs to be walked and toileted, a shame not everyone picked up after their dogs but this is no bad reflection on the caravan/pitch itself. Inside, the bed and seating area is very comfy and we were always warm and cosy. The showers had great pressure, very pleasant and the whole caravan was very clean and tidy. We also appreciated the little pot of biscuits and coffee, before we'd had chance to do a shop. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend this site and this particular caravan, we didn't want to leave and would definitely stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks very much for having us and allowing the dogs as well.

35 and following the instructions from Sykes Cottages we found ourselves at a Park Site which was not Borwick Lakes. If you are travelling from the South take the second island from the M6 and NOT the FIRST as stated in the directions from Sykes Cottages. The site was pleasant with two small lakes but could be improved by proper landscaping being completed. The location of the home is really nice as it is at the end of a row of other homes so has nobody at the one side of you. Parking is very easy and convenient The accommodation is a little tight in the second bedroom for two adults - indeed a tad tight for one adult - but overall the space was enough for three of us to move around the home. The second bedroom would probably benefit from just one bed but no doubt that would deter families from booking the accommodation. The unit was well equipped and had everything that we required for a weeks stay. We arrived at 6.30pm on the site and decided to have fish and chips as a quick meal having travelled six hours to arrive at Carnforth on a busy Bank Holliday Friday - BE WARNED all fish and chip shops in Carnforth close at 7.30 on a Friday evening. We tried 3 after visiting the website for local fish and chip shops. We finished up with a ghastly chicken burger and chips from a local shop in Carnforth centre near the railway station - never ever again !!!. Good restaurants we found were the Cross Keys (Chef and Brewer, Main Road Lancaster LA2 6AU) about 4 miles from Carnforth and the Longlands Restaurant at Tewitfield (LA6 1JH) - literally 4 mins drive away. Trungs Chinese restaurant at Main Road Bolton le Sands - about 4 miles from the site is also worth visiting. There are so many places to visit near to and a little further away from Carnforth that it is a good area to stay and explore from. Three major supermarkets in Carnforth - Tesco Aldi and Booths(Waitrose of the North) ensure that you always have access to everyday fresh food and requirements. There is also a Sainsburys main store at Lancaster, not that far away at all. Overall, a very happy experience for our week in the Lake District - well just below the Lakes and therefore a little cheaper than being in the National Park area. A must visit place when in Keswick is Brysons Tearooms, pure old fashioned service and such good food.

Normally when dogs are allowed you get a lower standard of accommodation, but in this case that wasn't true. It was spotless and the furnishings were lovely. The static was right at the end the row, so we got to see the Rabbits in the hedges on a morning. We also watched the ducks marching single file from the lakes. Would definitely recommend.
