Chatburn, a village, civil parish, and electoral ward in the Ribble Valley in East Lancashire, is ideally located for day trips to the nearby Pendle Hill and Forest of Bowland Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This picturesque village dates back to the Anglo-Saxon era; it was named after one of the most notable figures of that time, St. Chad, and it's close proximity to many magnificent sites and modern conveniences has made it a popular tourist destination. Take in the sights of the parish church and its towering spire before stopping at the local Post Office, which was damaged during World War II but has since been restored and is now the ideal site to pick up any necessities while feeling immersed in history. A stroll along the River Ribble will lead you to two pubs, a Chinese takeout, and an ice cream parlour, with the village also providing a convenience store for your own cooking needs. Visit Pendle Hill, famously associated with the 1612 witch trials, and stroll along the 43-mile-long Pendle Way, or connect with sections of the Bronte Way to see even more of this beautiful region. Don't forget to spend some time in the adjacent Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (aonb), where you can go hiking or biking through wooded cloughs and river valleys, or partake in other adventurous pursuits like fishing for trout and salmon in the rivers Ribble, Lune, and Hodder, or try your hand at gliding. Visit Skipton to view its massive castle and play a round of golf; the town also has a wide selection of eateries. Alternatively, spend the day in Burnley to enjoy excellent shopping and stroll through beautiful parks. Chatburn is a great option for a getaway to rural Lancashire, as it is accessible from Skipton, Preston, and Blackburn.

Very clean and good facilities. We took the dog and he loved it. Friendly hosts. Looking forward to coming back.

The pod was very clean and had everything you needed - towels, mugs, plates. Comfy bed and the heating kept the place lovely and toasty warm. The pods are as advertised with beautiful views over the rolling hills. There were speakers in the ceiling so you could play music and hear it while cooking or chilling in the hottub. The hottub takes around 45 mins to fill and stayed hot for around 4 hours. For someone with exzema having fresh water in the hottub instead of chlorinated water was actually so much better for my skin. The closest pub was around 10 minutes walk away. Thank you for a lovely stay. Steph & James

it is advertised with a hot tub, this is actually an small hot tub which they don’t turn and you could only use once a day as they needed to empty it and put fresh hot water in - they said there’s no bubbles or anything it’s not a jacuzzi just a hot tub , very disappointed by that as we wanted to sit and relax in it throughout the day as well as night - not sit in a glorified bath tub while the water quickly goes cold in the cold weather! We paid extra for this property to others we were looking at as it was meant to have a hot tub. 2. As we couldn’t access the hot tub and the weather was bad we had to stay in, the internet access was very hit and miss 3. Kitchen equipment was a little lacking and the oven was a combo oven/ microwave and you can’t for much in 4. The bedding was clean and freshly put on, but it smelt of fried food as the kitchen and bed are next to each so maybe take some fabreeze to use before you go to sleep 5. lack of bins, we tidy up after ourselves and the pods are at the back of a tea room / house and there are no allocated bins and at one point there was no bins at all for 2 days, we was nervous about using the bins at the house as we was unsure if they were for their property or joint use? The pod is lovely and if the weather is nice and you like being out all day it would probably be a lovely stay, but I definitely wouldn’t be returning or recommending it to anyone.
