The Turkey House is consistently praised for its comfort, cleanliness, and peaceful location, offering stunning views and a well-equipped space for couples and their dogs. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome packs, though these are not guaranteed. The property serves as an excellent base for exploring the Scottish Borders and Northumberland, with many finding it a cosy and private retreat.
Guests frequently describe the cottage as spotless and very clean, indicating high standards of cleanliness. One mention of an unclean oven suggests a minor oversight rather than a common issue.
The location is highly regarded for its quiet, peaceful setting with easy access to local attractions and countryside. Proximity to Berwick-upon-Tweed and various pubs is also appreciated.
Reviews often highlight the cottage's comfort, mentioning it as cosy, warm, and well-heated. A single mention of a creaky bed slightly detracts from an otherwise excellent comfort rating.
Facilities are generally praised for being well-equipped and immaculate. However, some guests noted the need for minor improvements, such as new frying pans and the provision of dishwasher tablets.
Many guests express gratitude for the welcome packs provided, which include a variety of items. It is important to note that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

Great for just chilling out or short trips to lots of interesting places nearby. Also an excellent location for access to coast or country anywhere between Edinburgh and Alnwick. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and well equipped. Unfortunately, it had to lose a star for cleanliness, as the oven had not been cleaned after previous guests. Apart from that, it would have been awarded five stars.
