Snaptrip says

The Studio in Ashbourne offers a cosy and welcoming stay, with guests praising the friendly hosts, the property's charm, and the beautiful village of Parwich. Many reviews highlight the comfortable furnishings, the well-equipped kitchen, and the lovely garden. The local pub and surrounding walks are frequently commended, and the property is considered ideal for both couples and dog owners looking for a peaceful retreat.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently describe the property as spotless and well-maintained, with only one negative comment regarding cleanliness, which appears to be an isolated incident. The high level of cleanliness contributes to the overall positive experience.

The location in the quiet and peaceful village of Parwich is highly appreciated by guests, with easy access to local walks and the Peak District. The proximity to a friendly local pub and the idyllic setting are frequently mentioned as highlights.

The majority of guests find the cottage very cosy and comfortable, with a few mentioning the comfortable bed and the cosy log burner. However, one review mentions that the heating schedule was not sufficient for comfort, and the bathroom size was uncomfortable for them.

Facilities are generally well-received, with the property being well-stocked and equipped. However, there are mentions of a non-working clothes dryer and a desire for a smart TV or casting device. The garden's lack of a secure gate for dogs and the proximity to the owner's property are noted by some guests.

While several reviews mention the warm welcome and friendly interactions with the hosts, there is only one specific reference to a thoughtful touch of fresh eggs on arrival. As this is a single mention and gifts are not consistently referenced, it is not possible to accurately score this category. Guests should note that such personal touches, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

About this property

This beautiful, stone-built, little detached cottage is next to the owners’ own home, in the heart of the traditional Derbyshire village of Parwich. The cottage is perfect for couples seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, or keen to pull on their walking boots and discover the beauty of this marvellous region. You enter the cottage immediately into the open plan living space, which has a vaulted ceiling, beams, a woodburning stove and is overlooked by the mezzanine bedroom. This gorgeous little cottage just oozes style; the sitting room has parquet flooring and leads to the well-equipped kitchen and dining area, which in turn leads to the shower room. Upstairs, the mezzanine bedroom is a delight, with more exposed character beams, a king-size double bed and lovely views over the vegetable patch and to the village beyond. Outside is a lovely walled garden, completely private with furniture making it the perfect spot for an evening drink or a cup of tea in the morning sunshine! The Sycamore Inn is a short stroll up the road, a traditional, friendly country pub serving food that also doubles as the village shop! Situated in the south of the Peak District National Park, the property is a short distance from the Dovedale National Nature Reserve and Carsington Water, making it a great base for walking. For cyclists, the Manifold Trail is a great way to explore the countryside, while a little further afield, Chatsworth House is easy to find in the car. With the delights of the Derbyshire Dales within easy reach, The Studio in Parwich is the perfect romantic bolt hole for couples exploring this charming area, all year round.

Surrounded by lush green countryside, Parwich is a charming village which dates back to Saxon times. It has a picturesque old church, village green, a country pub and a village hall. The area is a delight for cyclists and walkers, with the nearby Manifold Trail, a tarmac path that follows the old Leek to Manifold light railway, providing the perfect opportunity to explore the countryside. The route has been open since the 1930s, when the railway closed, and was probably the first disused railway to be utilised in this way. Nearby are the lovely villages of Alstonefield, Ilam and Brassington, and activities such as golf, horse riding and sailing are all within a seven mile radius. Chatsworth House and Carsington Waters are also close by, making Parwich a great base for a family holiday.
