About this property

For a chocolate-box cottage that’s filled with character, look no further. Lovingly updated to provide an ever-inviting place to stay, this property offers a stylish and quirky base for discovering the heart of the Peak District National Park. With gritstone edges, pretty river banks and mystical woodlands all laying close by and ready to be explored, the many wonders and ever-changing scenery of the Peaks is best discovered when staying in a traditional country cottage. Sleeping two guests but with the option of two bedrooms, this property is perfectly suited to a couple or two friends holidaying together.

Wander up the pretty garden path and let yourself in, feeling instantly welcomed by the charm of this unique accommodation. Boasting original beams, a feature fireplace with a wood burner, and an authentic Rayburn oven, the farmhouse nature of this property has certainly been maintained throughout the renovation. The cosy lounge is equipped with Sky TV and a sound system to help you relax at the end of the day, whilst the rear garden is the best place for enjoying the fresh air. You may even want to fire up the BBQ and eat outside. When it’s time for bed, you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms on the first floor: a king-size and a double.

Don your walking boots or get on your bike to explore the surrounding area, following the River Bradford (0.5 miles) to the village of Bradford (2 miles) before venturing further afield. Local spots of interest including the Nine Ladies Stone Circle (5 miles) and medieval Haddon Hall (4.5 miles) are well worth a visit, as is Chatsworth House (8 miles) which has featured on the big screen. From here, head to Curbar Edge (10.5 miles) to walk The Edges or look for bluebells in the pretty Burrs Wood (12.5 miles).
