Guests say

Farley Meadow View is a well-regarded cottage in Matlock, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and excellent location. Guests have enjoyed the games room, hot tub, and the property's suitability for family gatherings. The house's modern amenities and thoughtful Christmas decorations have been appreciated, although some minor maintenance issues and suggestions for improvements have been noted.

The property is consistently described as clean, with multiple reviews affirming its tidiness. Only one review mentioned a mouldy BBQ, which slightly impacts the otherwise excellent feedback on cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views and proximity to local beauty spots. However, one review mentioned the challenge of a hill when returning from Matlock, suggesting accessibility could be improved.

Guests find the property very comfortable, with large bedrooms and a variety of bed configurations. The presence of a games room and a hot tub adds to the comfort. Some concerns about bathroom accessibility and the need for mirrors have been raised.

Facilities like the kitchen, games room, and hot tub are generally well-received. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as hot water problems, a leaking water tank, and inadequate kitchen appliances for the number of guests.

While guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like Christmas decorations, there is insufficient information to assess the consistency of such gestures across all stays. Therefore, it cannot be guaranteed that similar thoughtfulness will be experienced by future guests.

Could not smell any signs of chlorine and there was no proper tests done on the PH levels whilst we were there. Throughout stay the hot tub never reached useable temperature either, hot water in the house was not working at all on Saturday couldn't have showers or baths until after 4pm when this was rectified only to be told there wouldn't be any heating, it was either or! I feel for the the amount of money spent these problems shouldn't have arised. Was also told on arrival that water tank in boiler cupboard was leaking and that owner would be back Saturday morning to keep changing the towels that were soaking up the leak and as we were a party of all ladies, we felt rather uncomfortable that they just turned up when they wanted to. Not enough bowls, glasses etc. plastic cups needed for outside. Smoke alarm was beeping constantly on the Sunday, we decided to go home so that would of been another call to owners if we had stayed till the Monday .When reporting the problems someone was with us quick but still wasn't rectified properly. The owners seemed so lovely and we really wanted to book again but due to the problems decided against it.

It was very clean and a great social space. It was disappointing that we had no heating on arrival. Fan heaters were left which was fine during the day but were not happy leaving them on at night. It was therefore quite cold at night. The property did not have enough glasses for the amount of people staying which was an issue as we hired a chef for one night and we struggled for wine glasses. I also suggest plastic glasses are supplied for the hot tub. Finally mirrors in some of the bathrooms were needed.
