Guests say

Hill Cottage in the Peak District & Derbyshire Dales receives high praise for its peaceful location, charming character, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, stunning views, and the thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. The terraced garden and summer house are repeatedly mentioned as highlights, offering beautiful vistas and relaxation spaces. The cottage's cleanliness and maintenance are commended, although there are some minor suggestions for improvement. Overall, the property provides a delightful and cosy retreat for visitors seeking a tranquil and scenic getaway.

Guests consistently note the cottage's cleanliness, with many reviews mentioning how incredibly clean and well-presented it is. One review suggests a deeper clean for bathroom tiles, but this appears to be an isolated comment.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, stunning views, and proximity to local amenities and walking trails. The village of Winster is noted as charming and a great base for exploring the Peak District.

Comfort is frequently highlighted, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially with the log burner. There are minor comments about the dining table and towel sizes, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the kitchen being well-stocked and the inclusion of a wood fire appreciated. Some guests mention the lack of a dishwasher and issues with plumbing and heating, which slightly impacts the score.

While guests mention thoughtful touches and a welcome pack, there is not enough consistent detail across the reviews to accurately score this category. It is clear, however, that guests feel well-cared for by the hosts.

The cottage is perfectly equipped and furnished for guest stays but is welcoming and homely at the same time. The terraced garden is very pretty with views over the valley and surrounding countryside. The hosts are always available and helpful and have provided everything one could need. We have just returned from our fourth visit and the fifth is already booked.
