The property is repeatedly described as immaculately clean, spotless, and well-maintained, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that guests are very satisfied with.
The location is highly praised for its convenience, being within walking distance to Matlock's centre, parks, and public transport. The scenic surroundings and ease of access to local attractions contribute to a very positive perception of the location.
Guests find the apartment comfortable, with special mentions of comfy beds and a cosy atmosphere. However, a few comments about a creaky second bed and leatherette furniture becoming sticky in warm weather slightly affect the overall comfort score.
The apartment is generally well-equipped, with guests appreciating the inclusion of a dishwasher and washing machine. However, the lack of WiFi, minor maintenance issues like a stiff door lock, and the absence of a hairdryer have led to a slightly lower score.

An outstanding, first floor apartment just a short walk from the centre of Matlock, with views of the church and Riber Castle. 8 Tawney House has been individually styled by the current owners to create a first-class holiday home. The open plan living area is spacious, light and airy, with impressive mullioned windows to two sides, a modern well-equipped kitchen and views across the town to the old church. A delightful main bedroom with high ceiling and full-length mullioned window makes this ideal for a romantic break. On the edge of the Peak District National Park and just a short drive from Bakewell and the picturesque village of Ashover (Cardale in TV's Peak Practice), the apartment makes an ideal base from which to explore the region's attractions, including the majestic Chatsworth House and Carsington Water and sailing club. A holiday home of real quality and style!
The popular Peak District towns of Matlock and Matlock Bath have long been attracting visitors to the area. Since the Spa was developed in the late 17th Century, these pretty towns have been fashionable holiday spots and it isn't hard to see why. Offering a range of shops, pubs and restaurants, the Matlocks are set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent and are home to the renowned attractions of Riber Castle, Gullivers Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum. The Heights of Abraham cable cars provide breathtaking views down the gorge whilst the park itself offers a wealth of activities for the whole family such as the nature trail, water gardens and Owl Maze. The owners are exceptionally kind and respond immediately to any concerns. I rated Sykes itself a little lower simply because temporary overseas tenants, like myself, are not able to buy insurance from you against breakages, damage and the like.Sincerely, Maurice Taylor, Japan.
