Snaptrip says

Forget-Me-Not Cottage in Tideswell is highly praised for its cosy and comfortable ambiance, well-equipped facilities, and excellent location for exploring the Peak District. Guests appreciate the quiet setting, the tasteful decor, and the convenience of local amenities and walks. The cottage's garden and conservatory are also well-received, although there are minor comments about parking and a need for better vacuuming.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently report the cottage as spotlessly clean, with only a single mention of a minor issue with damp towel odour and toast crumbs, which seems to be an isolated incident.

The location is universally lauded for its proximity to local amenities, pubs, and the ease of accessing walking routes and nearby attractions in the Peak District.

Reviewers find the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable conservatory, contributing to a homely stay.

Facilities are generally praised, including the well-equipped kitchen and utility room. However, there are comments about the hoover's quality and the absence of doors downstairs, which suggests room for improvement.

There are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so it is not possible to assess this category.

About this property

A superb country cottage in picturesque Tideswell.

Forget-Me-Not is an adorable country cottage nestled on a quiet lane in the equally beautiful village of Tideswell. Inside is spacious, yet cosy making it perfect for family or friends to enjoy. Each room has been stylishly decorated with simple colours, comfortable furnishings, great attention to detail and even a glowing log burning stove. The cottage embraces its original features such as exposed stone walls, however, it is fully up-to-date with a modern kitchen, bathroom and two great bedrooms.

Tideswell is situated near Buxton and has some really lovely historic buildings, including a remarkable church, also known as the Cathedral of the Peak. Observe the well-dressings in the village and stop in at one of the friendly local pubs for a bite to eat and a pint. With a network of footpaths radiating from the cottage door, you’ll be spoilt for choice of which walk to go on first. Head to Monsal Trail and explore the area either by foot or hire a bike and pedal your way around. Enjoy a tranquil walk down to scenic Water-cum-Jolly Dale and simply enjoy the views of the English countryside at it’s best.

Hang up your walking boots and jump in the car for a short journey to all the fantastic holiday attractions nearby, such as Victorian Buxton with its magnificent Crescent, Devonshire Dome and Opera House. Castleton’s spooky Blue John caverns or even Peveril Castle. You cannot visit Derbyshire and not spend an afternoon at Chatsworth House or Haddon Hall. Grab a famous and delicious Pudding in Bakewell and enjoy it whilst strolling along the River Wye.

There's plenty to do around this fabulous cottage, but make sure you return to Forget-Me-Not for a glass of something special under a blanket of stars in the cottage’s private garden.

Lovely cottage in an excellent location. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything you needed for a week away from home. Tideswell is a lovely village with a number of pubs and shops. It is on a bus route with access to a number of local towns and villages plus a great location for walking in the Peaks.
