Guests appreciate the comfortable furnishings, the quiet setting, and the proximity to local amenities and Peak District attractions. The cottage's decor and the thoughtful touches provided contribute to a homely feel, making it a popular choice for a relaxing stay.

Guests consistently note the cottage's cleanliness, with only a single mention of a minor issue with damp-smelling towels and toast crumbs. The overwhelmingly positive feedback suggests a very high standard of cleanliness.

The cottage's location is frequently highlighted as excellent, with its proximity to local shops, pubs, and scenic walks. Its quiet setting in Tideswell and easy access to Peak District attractions contribute to its high location score.

Comfort is a strong point for the cottage, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the living spaces cosy. A few guests mentioned issues with a rope handrail and the absence of doors downstairs, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

Facilities are generally well-regarded, with the cottage being well-equipped and guests appreciating the wood burning stove and outdoor spaces. Some minor criticisms include the quality of the hoover and the lack of a large pot for cooking pasta, but these do not significantly detract from the overall positive experience.

While guests express satisfaction with the cottage's amenities and the information provided, there are no specific mentions of gifts or particularly thoughtful gestures that would warrant a score in this category. Therefore, the score is set to null.

About this property

A superb country cottage in picturesque Tideswell.

Forget-Me-Not is an adorable country cottage nestled on a quiet lane in the equally beautiful village of Tideswell. Inside is spacious, yet cosy making it perfect for family or friends to enjoy. Each room has been stylishly decorated with simple colours, comfortable furnishings, great attention to detail and even a glowing log burning stove. The cottage embraces its original features such as exposed stone walls, however, it is fully up-to-date with a modern kitchen, bathroom and two great bedrooms.

Tideswell is situated near Buxton and has some really lovely historic buildings, including a remarkable church, also known as the Cathedral of the Peak. Observe the well-dressings in the village and stop in at one of the friendly local pubs for a bite to eat and a pint. With a network of footpaths radiating from the cottage door, you’ll be spoilt for choice of which walk to go on first. Head to Monsal Trail and explore the area either by foot or hire a bike and pedal your way around. Enjoy a tranquil walk down to scenic Water-cum-Jolly Dale and simply enjoy the views of the English countryside at it’s best.

Hang up your walking boots and jump in the car for a short journey to all the fantastic holiday attractions nearby, such as Victorian Buxton with its magnificent Crescent, Devonshire Dome and Opera House. Castleton’s spooky Blue John caverns or even Peveril Castle. You cannot visit Derbyshire and not spend an afternoon at Chatsworth House or Haddon Hall. Grab a famous and delicious Pudding in Bakewell and enjoy it whilst strolling along the River Wye.

There's plenty to do around this fabulous cottage, but make sure you return to Forget-Me-Not for a glass of something special under a blanket of stars in the cottage’s private garden.

Our 2nd stay in this beautiful cottage. Has everything you need and is in a fabulous location. Perfect for setting out on long walks with the dog then returning for a welcome drink in one of the local pubs before heading back to the cosy cottage. Will definitely book again.

Lovely cottage in an excellent location. The cottage was clean and comfortable with everything you needed for a week away from home. Tideswell is a lovely village with a number of pubs and shops. It is on a bus route with access to a number of local towns and villages plus a great location for walking in the Peaks.
