Guests say

Garden Cottage in the Peak District receives high praise for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like chocolates and homemade jam, though these are not guaranteed. The property is well-equipped and offers stunning views, with many finding it an ideal base for exploring local attractions. Some minor issues with water pressure and shower functionality were noted.

The cottage is consistently described as very clean, with several guests noting the presence of fresh flowers and a welcoming scent of polish upon arrival. One mention of needing to clean kitchen utensils suggests a slight deduction.

The location is highly praised for its tranquility, beautiful views, and proximity to local attractions and walks. The farm setting adds to the charm, though one review mentioned a rough approach road.

Most guests found the cottage comfortable, with a cosy atmosphere and a comfy bed and sofa. However, a few guests mentioned issues with the shower and mattress, leading to a slightly lower score.

The property is well-equipped with kitchen essentials and updated features. However, several mentions of shower issues, including water pressure and temperature control, suggest room for improvement in maintenance.

While many guests were delighted by the thoughtful gestures such as chocolates and homemade jam, these gifts are mentioned as personal touches from the owners and are not guaranteed amenities of the cottage.

The hosts were great. Biggest problem was the shower which was unusable, the hosts are aware of this. It would have been very helpful to have had more information on local amenities as some of leaflets were dating back to 2018. That apart a wonderful stay in wonderful location. Would definitely go back if the shower problem could be fixed.

There are a few steps leading into the front door way, one right inside the property as you step in. It is carpeted but could do with a safety strip to help with visual identification of where the step is, as the carpet colour is neutral and blends making it difficult to determine where the edges of the step are. Hubby fell off step a couple of times. Until he got use to the step. Door way into bathroom is very narrow and the shower cubicle is as well. The, shower, itself was difficult to use. Shower heater was temperamental, low water pressure and it went from freezing to scalding hot. Mattress on bed was too soft. Okay for one person, with two, you end up in the middle and fighting to keep to your side. Ended up with back ache, we did shorten our stay by one night. Otherwise it was very well equipped and clean. The cottage has stunning views. Good location to visit the surrounding area. Nice touch with the chocolate.
