The eight and a half miles of picturesque, traffic-free walking and biking on the Monsal Trail, which passes through the village, are made up of various tunnels as well as the magnificent viaduct at Monsal Head, which will keep the whole family entertained. The picture-postcard village of Ashford-in-the-Water is just down the road. It has a mediaeval Sheepwash Bridge, which was formerly a key location for packhorses crossing the River Wye on their way to bring mail from Derby. Very quiet location. Within 30 mins of all major tourist sites in Derbyshire. Stunning location in the valley right next to the monsal trail. Apartment was kitted out with games and toys which the 7 year old loved. Kitchen had everything, all three bedrooms were comfy and huge and living space was perfect for our family of 5. Access to the games room was a bonus. We had it to ourselves for most of the week. Kids loved the electronic darts and pool and playing bowls on the green outside. We will definitely be visiting this place agian.

Lots of pots pans containers in the kitchen, which were appreciated as we cooked in most nights. Good selection of books and a few games.
