When sleep calls, head upstairs to refresh with a rejuvenating shower on your way to finally settling in for a much-needed rest in the plush double bedroom. This pleasant village lies in the beautiful Tanat Valley at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, only 4 miles from one of the Seven Wonders of Wales - the magnificent Pistyll Rhaeadr (240 ft high waterfall). Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant was the location for the successful film, The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain, and more recently the film Nativity 2 starring David Tennant. The village boasts two general stores, a newsagent, a Post Office, a butchers, three pubs, a café, a fish and chip shop, and an Indian takeaway. It is surrounded by stunning countryside, providing walking trails for all abilities including the Berwyn Ridge Walk and a trail to the summit of the waterfall. Discover Lakes Vyrnwy and Bala, the National Trust Powis and Chirk Castles, medieval Shrewsbury and Chester and the wonderful Snowdonia National Park.

When we arrived we found a bottle of wine, some Welsh cakes and milk had been left for us, so thoughtful. Amazing views, felt really special.

Owners are very attentive and try and resolve issues as they occur. Missed having a washing machine, would benefit from an enclosed dog field so can be off lead to have a run around. Loved the extra touches of welshcakes and wine. Also great to have all the household basics you need to start the holiday. Great advice from owner to visit Coed-Y-Dinas Garden Centre where you can get great gifts for family. Would highly recommend a visit. Thank you,

Splendid picture perfect views. Faultlessly clean and very comfortable bed, all finished to a high specification like new. Very peaceful idyllic, exactly as described. Even with poor weather this a beautiful place to stay, we will certainly return. Thank you to the owners who left us a great welcome pack, much appreciated. Make sure you go well stocked for the week as you wonât want to leave to bother with shops or pubs. Follow the driving information given as the sat nav route is no fun for drivers used to town driving.
