The description should have pointed out the low doors and beams, the rather steep and awkward stairs, plus small steps to and from living room. Not ideal with 6 tall men and one woman with mobility problems. However we did enjoy our family week

The lounge was comfortable, the garden was beautiful, beds very comfortable. However the listing clearly stated 4 bedrooms. There are 2 en-suites + one small shower room for 2 bedrooms to share and the shower in this shower room was around 5â6 high - so fine for the 2 ladies sharing who were 5â4 but unusable for the men who were over 6â so had to wait for someone to finish in one of the en-suites. The 4th âbathroomâ was just a downstairs WC. The doorways and beams were low but we had been told in advance so were forewarned. The owner was very helpful and pleasant.

The kitchen is well equipped, making it possible to cook and entertain six people, or more!? There is a ground floor bedroom, with an ensuite bathroom, a ground floor WC, 3 more bedrooms upstairs, one with a huge ensuite. Huge fireplace and gorgeous Aga woodburner is in the sitting room, where a huge seating area and seriously big coffee table sits. Gorgeous wooden floors compliment the 400 year old oak beams and wall frames. The garden is huge and completely enclosed, so wonderful for children and dogs - ours charged around the space happily. Lots of garden furniture and a barbecue for outdoor dining etc. The beds were very comfortable, as were the dining chairs! There is masses of storage space and walk-in wardrobes. Parking car is easy, and the property is easy to find. There's a great pub a short walk up the road serving lovely food, with a good range of beers and wines. A lovely circular walk takes you around the village and through local countryside. The owner lives next door, and we had the best greeting and welcome. There are a couple of Yew trees in the garden, so be aware of dropped berries.
