Star Cottage in Eastbourne is a cosy and well-liked holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, convenient location, and the thoughtful welcome pack provided. Guests appreciate its proximity to local amenities and attractions, as well as the comfortable furnishings. Some minor maintenance issues and a lack of certain kitchen utensils have been noted, but overall, the property offers a pleasant stay for visitors to the area.
The property generally maintains good standards of cleanliness, with several guests finding it very clean. However, there have been instances of overlooked areas, such as dust, unwashed mugs, and a greasy grill pan, which suggest room for improvement.
The cottage's location is highly praised for being close to shops, restaurants, and the seafront, as well as being a good base for sightseeing. The old town setting is particularly appreciated, although one review mentioned noise from the high street.
Most guests find the cottage comfortable, with cosy beds and a private sitting area. The addition of a walk-in shower has been well received. However, some guests noted issues with the bathroom and seating arrangements, indicating some aspects could be cosier.
The cottage is equipped for a comfortable stay, but guests have suggested additional kitchen utensils and a washing machine for longer stays. Maintenance issues like a leaky sink and temperamental toilet flush have been flagged, affecting the score.
Guests have expressed gratitude for the welcome pack, which adds a personal touch to their arrival. While this gesture is appreciated, it's important to note that such amenities are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Travel west to reach Seaford for a day at the beach, where you'll also locate Seaford Head Golf Course, the Seaford Museum of Local History, and the Seaford Head Nature Reserve, perfect for those preferring nature-filled landscapes. Rerouting east, touring Hastings is a must whilst in the area, offering something for everyone, with attractions including Hastings Castle, Hastings Beach, and Hastings Museum & Art Gallery, before discovering Hastings Pier, where you can dine out, sample some local menus, and take in the breath-taking coastal vistas. All of this awaits at Star Cottage.
Eastbourne is the perfect location for a seaside holiday and has been since Queen Victoria was on the throne. With its mild climate and easy access from London, this lovely coastal town has increased its appeal throughout the centuries. With 5 miles of award-winning shingle beaches to stroll along, you can enjoy the sea air even if you aren't quite ready for a swim. Eastbourne's historic pier, built in around 1866, offers entertainment all day and well into the night with its amusement arcade, cafes, shops, and nightclub, and from here you can even take a speed boat ride around the bay. After a day of visiting the museums, art galleries or numerous antiques shops in the town, why not sit and watch the waves roll by as you enjoy afternoon tea in Victorian Tea Rooms on the pier? Golfers are spoilt for choice with four golf courses close by, and tennis is also a popular sporting choice with the aegon International women’s and men’s tournaments taking place in June prior to Wimbledon. There is even an Eastbourne Extreme weekend, with demonstrations in mountain biking, skateboarding, sailing, windsurfing and many other sports, so if you are energetic and willing, get down there and join the fun! For those who prefer to be entertained, take your seats in one of the four major theatres that Eastbourne is home to, offering all types of entertainment from traditional seaside shows and musicals to classical ballets and opera. If you are lucky enough to be here in August, bring a picnic and be prepared for Airbourne, an international flying event which passes over the sea. If you fancy a day away from the beach, there are many other places to visit in Eastbourne, including Treasure Island for warm, sunny days or the Drusillas Park Zoo. So, if you are looking for a holiday spot with something for everyone, look no further than Eastbourne.

Very close to Waitrose for groceries on foot and not far from Beachy Head/Seven Sisters by car. Would benefit from check-out instructions with regards to rubbish/linen.

This was our second stay here and the cottage has been much improved by replacing the bath tub with a really nice walk in shower. The location is great for us close to a good supermarket, a lovely park and a few nice pubs (you can get a lovely meal at The Lamb). Eastbourne has lots of shops in the town and a lovely promenade to walk along which can take you to the Sussex Downs coastal path to Beachy Head. There are lots of places to visit nearby. All in all a very good holiday. Many thanks.
Margaret
Only downside was passing noise in front bedroom only, as right on high street .
