Would not stay again due to other issues. Upon arrival I could not locate the key safe which matched the number I had been given, I phoned Sykes who advised they tried to call me and left me a voicemail advising my booking had been cancelled due to a broken boiler in the accommodation. None of this statement was true. I received no phone call and they had my details as I had to confirm them for security. I was then told the owner would meet me at the property to show me an alternate property. This didn’t happen. I stood outside for 45 minutes and eventually someone staying in the building shouted ‘are you waiting to look at somewhere to stay’ and was on the phone to the owner. This person was outside smoking weed at the time. He showed me a flat inside a shared building, telling me not to speak to one of the people coming in as they are going through the courts to get them evicted. I declined to stay here as I had travelled with my 1 year old and this was not suitable for them. The weed smoker then fought my corner with the owner and showed me a property round the back. I’m guessing 4A, although it had 5a on the gate (which was change me during the stay to 4a). This guy then told me there was people staying in the place I’d booked & there was no boiler issues at all. These people were there during our stay so we’d clearly been lied to throughout. Double booking? Long term let? Clearly tried to get us there in the hope we’d just accept on of the other rooms & chuck us in there. The entire property smelled of weed day and night. Walkways, bin area. You couldn’t leave the window open. Multiple people smoking in the walkway area with no regard of a baby staying there. Truly awful management, ownership and residents. A real shame as the actual property itself was good. We travel to Seaford multiple times a year and thought we’d found somewhere we could come to regularly rather than a basic hotel room. I can’t see it being an option after what we had to go through.
