Gun Hill Cottage in Sussex is a characterful property with a beautiful garden, offering a peaceful setting and local amenities like pubs within walking distance. It serves as a cosy base for exploring the countryside and nearby attractions. Guests have enjoyed the cottage's charm, outdoor space, and thoughtful touches such as a welcome bottle of wine.
Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with several guests finding the cottage dusty and with cobwebs, while others felt it was clean. The presence of a welcome bottle of wine suggests attention to detail, but the inconsistency in cleanliness has been noted.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its peacefulness, proximity to local pubs, and accessibility to nearby attractions and countryside walks. The setting is described as picturesque and quiet, contributing to a relaxing experience.
Most guests found the cottage cosy and comfortable, with a spacious lounge and comfortable beds. However, some noted issues with heating and a small third bedroom, suggesting room for improvement in overall comfort.
Facilities are generally well-received, with mentions of a pool table, well-equipped kitchen, and garden space. However, there are comments about outdated appliances and maintenance issues like plumbing, which affect the score.
While guests appreciated the welcome bottle of wine, there is not enough information to determine if such gestures are consistent or to assess the overall thoughtfulness of the host. Therefore, this score is set to null.

Gut ausgestattet, sehr gemütlich, sauber (thanks to Lisa) und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. An einige Besonderheiten, die alte Häuser nun Mal haben, gewöhnt man sich schnell, auch Dank der Erklärungen des sehr freundlichen Owners. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und bedanken uns herzlich! Christiane & Erwin

Superb!

It is an old property, full of character so a few maintenance issues are only to be expected. However, the location in the Sussex Weald more than makes up for any minor problems. Being able to hear the dawn chorus and to eat breakfast outdoors was just magical.
