Guests say

Guests have found the cottage in Hampshire to be clean, well-situated for local amenities and attractions, and generally comfortable. While the property has been praised for its cleanliness and new fittings, some guests noted issues with maintenance and a lack of certain household items.

The property has been consistently described as very clean, with multiple reviews affirming its tidiness. However, there was a mention of dirty laundry being present, which slightly impacts the overall impression.

The location is appreciated for its proximity to shops, restaurants, public transport, and attractions like Hayling Island and The Isle of Wight, making it convenient for guests.

Guests have found the beds comfortable and the property spacious. However, there were comments about the need for darker curtains to block out morning light and issues with bed arrangements not meeting guest expectations.

While the property boasts a new kitchen and fresh decor, guests have reported a broken window, missing oven gloves, and baking trays, as well as broken blinds and curtains. These issues indicate room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

There is no mention of gifts or additional thoughtful touches provided by the property owner in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

They were both set up as twins, where we needed doubled due to my elderly mother not being able to sleep in a single bed. You aren't able to contact the owner directly, so it all had to go via the sykes customer support line. The owner got back to them saying it was too much effort to go and change the beds to how they were meant to be and they weren't prepared to do it. The house itself has very little character and feels really empty. The garden is overrun and clearly the owner is just using it to make money. The crockery and glasses were chipped and cracked. It is a very basic house. I wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else either.

Unfortunately there were a few things that could make it better. The curtains were hanging off of the tracks. The blind in the front bedroom was broken and slats are missing. You say you will get these things done but I have been looking at reviews from some months ago and the window in the bedroom is STILL cracked and hasn’t been replaced. Also the dirty laundry from the previous week was still by the front door and didn’t get picked up until Wednesday. Apart from these small issues we did have a good week.

off street parking was handy. The property location is within a short distance to Hayling Island for beach and a funfair for children. It is possible to walk to the sea/ estuary in a short period using a disused railway line.
