Snaptrip says

The Bothy in Lymington is highly praised for its welcoming hosts, Bill and Valerie, who ensure a cosy stay by tending to the woodburning stove. Guests enjoy the presence of wildlife, the peaceful and beautiful location, and the cottage's comfort. While most find the property clean and well-maintained, a few minor issues are noted. The thoughtful touches, such as lighting the stove and occasional treats, contribute to the charm of this Hampshire cottage.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests generally report The Bothy as clean and tidy, with only a single mention of minor cleanliness issues such as toothpaste marks and a sticky glass. The overwhelming majority of reviews do not raise any concerns, indicating high standards of cleanliness.

The location is frequently described as peaceful, quiet, and ideal for exploring the New Forest and local wildlife. However, one review mentions the proximity to a busy road without a footpath, which could affect walkability and safety for some guests.

Comfort is consistently highlighted, with guests finding the cottage cosy, especially with the woodburner. The bed's comfort received mixed reviews, with one guest finding it too soft, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and efficient heating. However, there are suggestions for additional items like a cafetière and a hairdryer, and one instance of hot water issues, which suggests room for improvement in maintenance.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident in their attentive service, such as lighting the woodburner and providing treats like mince pies. While these gestures are appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches, though delightful, may vary and are not guaranteed.
