The beaches of Brighstone and Brook are particularly picturesque and unspoilt. Further along the coast is an area popular with surfers and Compton Bay is renowned for its fossils. This also an incredible walking and cycling area with a bridleway within a few minutes walk, linking with paths joining the Tennyson Trail which extends from the centre of the Isle of Wight to the Needles on the western tip. The nearby coastal path is amongst the most dramatic to be found in England and most of this coastline is protected by the National Trust. Nearby, there are also the National Trust gardens of Mottistone Manor.

Strawberry cottage has recently been renovated to a high standard, providing attractive and comfortable accommodation for four people. It is situated in a peaceful lane with little traffic as it is a no-through road. The property stands on raised ground, and from the living room there are views of Brighstone Downs and glimpses of the cliffs above Blackgang Chine. The living room is a spacious and sunny room with a large picture window extending along most of its length. It is furnished with deep sofas, and a flat screen Smart TV & DVD Player. There is a fenced and gated rear garden with a rose border, a large lawn and a patio with garden furniture, so that meals can be enjoyed in the sunshine. Bicycles and surfboards can be stored in the lockable garage. There is a regular bus service within a few minutes walk.
