Beachcombers is a well-regarded cottage in Ventnor, praised for its stunning location, spaciousness, and array of on-site activities suitable for children. Guests appreciate the friendly hosts, sea views, and the property's proximity to the beach. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is highly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
The property is generally well-maintained, with clean facilities and equipment. However, a few guests mentioned finding dust and spiders, suggesting room for improvement in thoroughness. The majority did not raise cleanliness as an issue, indicating satisfaction with the standard of hygiene.
The location is highly praised for its peacefulness, proximity to the sea, and beautiful views. The accessibility of coastal walks and nearby attractions adds to the appeal. The challenging driveway is noted but does not significantly detract from the overall positive reception of the location.
Guests find the property comfortable, with a warm, airy atmosphere and ample space for relaxation. The presence of a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sleeping arrangements contribute to the comfort. One guest mentioned a less satisfactory mattress, but this seems an isolated view.
The facilities, including play areas and sports equipment, are well-received, especially by families with children. Some maintenance issues like a non-draining shower and broken utensils were reported, but the quick response from hosts to resolve problems is appreciated.
While the reviews reflect positively on the hosts' responsiveness and the provision of essentials, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness beyond expected hospitality standards. Therefore, a score cannot be provided.

â It was in a beautiful setting with a sea view and had wonderful facilities for the children to play while we were at the house. They enjoyed the outdoor space to roam safely and particularly enjoyed the golf course and making friends with the pony and donkey. A great place for older children. The beds were clean and comfortable and we had all that we needed. It was great to have a bbq available on the patio and the large outdoor table suited our family of seven perfectly. We arranged a Tesco delivery on the first evening, however the van got into difficulty driving down the track. Weâd recommend asking the van to park at the top of the drive! The patio area was lovely, but not especially private from the other two cottages. Perhaps a screen or trellis could solve this? Overall the house was wonderful, although there were quite a few spiders also sharing it! Probably due to it being in the countryside, but we felt a more thorough hoovering/dusting would help! We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to return!
