Guests say

The Coach House in Ventnor offers stunning views and a peaceful, private setting. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and the property's proximity to local attractions. While some guests have highlighted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is enhanced by the beautiful surroundings and the property's charm.

Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the property to be spotless, particularly the bedding and towels, while others noted areas that required more attention, such as the kitchen and bathroom. The inconsistency leads to a slightly above-average score.

The location is highly praised for its stunning views, proximity to local attractions, and the peaceful setting. However, some guests mentioned road noise and misleading photos regarding garden access. The overall sentiment remains positive, hence the high score.

Guests generally find the beds very comfortable and the house spacious. However, there are comments about heavy quilts and issues with mattresses that affected the quality of sleep for some. The comfort level is deemed good, but with room for improvement.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-stocked kitchen and comfortable furnishings. Nonetheless, guests have reported maintenance issues such as Wi-Fi connectivity problems, broken appliances, and the need for updates. The score reflects the balance between the range of facilities offered and the need for maintenance.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to assess the level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

In reality all three were overgrown, with the creeper obscuring the bathroom and bedroom windows. Various maintenance issues due to a lack of inspection prior to arrival. Some were dealt with promptly, such as replaced light bulbs, but window stays were broken and a fire safety door upstairs would not close. The hob drove me mad, being touch control and unresponsive, spoiling more than one meal. Attention needs to be paid to mould in the shower and around the cistern. A new boiler had been fitted but during a gale the hot water supply stopped with intermittent supply of hot water when it reignited. We were unfortunate to have two disturbed nights until dawn due to loud music from the house during the first weekend and from a marquee in the garden during the week. We might have thought twice about booking had we known. In all, frankly, we felt the property rental was overpriced, as well as having had to pay for the ferry. It was a lot to pay for a view!

Always a pleasure with wonderful views of the iow coast Line. Good comfortable and well equiped accommodation in a quiet location. Caring owners who are always at hand and willing to receive comments, suggestions and make upgrades to improve the facilities for more enjoyment of any stay. The relaxing and enjoyable week goes too quickly but a return visit next year is always good to look forward to. N & H

Some aspects were oversold in the description however, in particular the garden furniture, umbrella and bbq required significant cleaning on our part as they were buried in the shed covered in cobwebs. Also in the bathroom the toilet handle and cold tap were broken and it wasn't fixed until the day before we left. We enjoyed our stay but these aspects took the shine off the package we were expecting.
