Guests say

Goodalls is a well-loved cottage praised for its beautiful garden, cosy interiors, and thoughtful touches. Guests enjoy the peaceful location, the abundance of wildlife, and the property's character. While some minor issues were raised, the overall experience is one of comfort and charm, making it a highly recommended base for exploring the Isle of Wight.

Most guests found Goodalls to be clean and well-presented. However, a few guests mentioned that some kitchen items were not clean upon arrival, and one review cited average cleanliness, slightly lowering the score.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to local attractions, and the beauty of the surrounding area. It is central to the south of the Isle, making it an ideal spot for exploring.

The majority of guests found the cottage to be cosy and comfortable, with special mentions of the conservatory and the fireplaces. However, some guests noted the beds were too soft and creaky, which affects the comfort score.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and good amenities. Criticisms include the lack of a tumble dryer, a small cooker for larger groups, and limited wood supply for the fire. The garden was not dog secure, and some guests suggested improvements such as a shower upstairs and a washer/dryer.

Guests appreciated the thoughtful extras such as tea, coffee, and milk on arrival. The owners' communication and helpfulness were also commended. It should be noted that while such gifts are mentioned, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

The downstairs bedroom and shower room was good but the steps to the garden where very steep and the handrail unsteady. The floors downstairs where very uneven with numerous small steps which made it treacherous for someone with limited mobility. It would have been useful to have more of these details before we booked. We had a lovely holiday with some of our family and this is a great house for fully mobile people.

The garden was a great asset and our children and dog had a fantastic time exploring all the little hidden paths! Cottage was really well equipped and the information pack sent in advance was really helpful and a nice touch. Thank you for a fabulous week.

Nice quiet & rural part of the island Lovely kitchen, well equipped with everything you could need. The whole property was very clean. Would have preferred not to have feather duvets & pillows but that is just our personal choice. Would recommend Goodalls to anyone.
