About this property

Wickings is a stunning 4 bed holiday cottage suitable for families wanting a spacious, luxurious and welcoming escape in Ventnor, Isle of Wight.

This property has everything for all the family and is especially good at catering for larger groups. The living/dining room makes entertaining a dream as you can transition from the sofa to the dining table very easily. The sofas in the lounge are so plush and you can get lost in a book or looking out of the patio doors at the birds feeding in the front garden. If you are travelling as a family with children (or without) there are games in the lounge that you can enjoy.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you might need and you also have access to the brick BBQ outside on the patio as well as the electric griddle. An ideal set up for those summer days and nights with friends and family. The patio is nestled next to the pond with its relaxing water feature.

Upstairs you have a deluxe master bedroom with an en-suite and with ample space for a travel cot. It has a large balcony and plenty of room to soak up the sunshine. There are two further double bedrooms upstairs along with the family bathroom. Finally there is a single bedroom, located off the additional lounge on the lower ground floor.

This really is a house to relax and have fun! There is a spa bath located at the top of the garden so please enjoy and also soak in the view. In the garage there is a ping pong table and a snooker table so lots of games to entertain you during your stay.

Ventnor is only a short drive from the property. En route, you will find Ventnor’s Botanic Garden which is a spectacular garden to walk around, with a wonderful café and shop. You may find live music there in the summer but please check the website for further details. Steephill Cove which is a short walk from the property, is a little hidden slice of paradise. You walk down to the cove (no vehicular access) and there are a couple of magnificent places to eat with wonderful sea food, overlooking the sea.

If you’d prefer a scenic drive, head to Military Road and take in the stunning coastal route to the Needles. Pop into Blackgang Chine Theme Park along the way for some nostalgic moments or introduce the next generation to the land of imagination.

A little further afield lies Cowes, a seaport town with plenty to see and do, including the delights of Northwood House Park, the town’s picturesque harbour and nearby Maritime Museum.

The charm of Shanklin Old Village and Sandown Bay which won Best Beach Award, are just moments away.

Explore the wonders of the Isle of Wight with a stay at the lovely Wickings.

The quaint Victorian seaside resort of Ventnor is located at the southern end of the island and accessed via an array of steep winding roads set amidst beautiful scenery. Sheltered by St. Boniface Down, one of the island's highest points and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this charming town has a uniquely mild micro climate enabling tropical and exotic plants to grow throughout the area. The gently sloping sandy and fine shingle beaches and coves provide excellent facilities for watersports and offer a range of stunning coastal paths to explore, while the harbour sells a broad range of fresh fish and locally-caught seafood. Ventnor is one of the Isle of Wight’s most prestigious food destinations with a good variety of high-quality restaurants,

Bistros, pubs and shops along the esplanade and close to the town centre. The Botanical Gardens are within easy reach and well worth a visit, whilst around the island there are great walking and cycling opportunities, medieval castles, historic houses and a variety of gardens and waterfalls, as well as the unspoilt fishing bay. This great holiday destination has plenty to offer all year-round, and it's easy to see why it's known as the prettiest place on the Isle of Wight!

. Its a lovely place but the owners must stop chasing the money and block out guests one or two days a month to keep on top of this property. I had to clean showers heads as blocked with scale .the down stairs shower scream when turned to hot as shower thermostat is starting to stick..hot tub not been cleaned ..don't believe if the chart says so I'm a retired plumber and heating guy who worked also on pools etc. Tea bags etc in kitchen 4 years out of date etc etc..had grass cut(pointless)twice in 4 days..i was recovering from hernia opp and wife in hot tub ..no text ..no email just turned up..poor communication..its not cheap to stay here so please spend and reinvest..stayed twice in a month and nothing altered..cleaners need to be more vigilant.

Nicely furnished in a quiet location , perfect for a relaxing and cozy break .

Spacious accommodation with well laid out design and in a quiet neighbourhood. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too good and so we never got to explore the tiered garden, but it looked great. Appreciated the dog towels at the entrance and the doggie treats! Two points to note: firstly, this is a 'no shoes indoors' property, so bring some slippers and secondly, the drive is on a slope with a camber up to the parking area; no problem for our SUV but a low slung sports car might have to park on the road (quiet) outside.
