Nestled in the pretty village of Chilham, and within 0.5 miles of Chilham railway station, Chilham Castle, two local pubs, a tearoom and wine bar, this is the perfect escape for couples who are looking to explore Kent’s countryside. For those who like the great outdoors, Chilham is located on the Pilgrims Way and there are many footpaths and off-road cycle routes to explore, taking in Godmersham Park and the wider Kent countryside. Keen wine enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice with an abundance of vineyards and breweries, all within 20 miles, including Chartham Vineyard, Chapel Down Winery and McCanns Brewery. For those who like to explore the local heritage, Godinton House and Gardens and Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, both make for great days out, or hop in the car to nearby Canterbury (7 miles) where you can explore Canterbury Cathedral, or the Kent coast at Whitstable (12 miles) famous for its locally caught oysters.

Step through the stable door and into this charming cottage into an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area which is cosy and inviting. Relax on the comfy sofa and enjoy catching up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV, or just curl up with a good book. The well-equipped kitchen has everything you may need for whipping up a romantic meal for two and the breakfast bar with stools is a perfect spot for enjoying relaxed dining. Heading upstairs you will find a welcoming king-size bedroom to retreat to after a busy day and completing the property is a shower room.

So comfortable it was like being at home. Everything you would need and more. Lovely welcome and nothing was to much trouble. We would love to visit again and would highly recommend.

Lovely cosy cottage in a stunning, historic, friendly village. Welcoming owners who ensure you have everything you need, including a wonderful welcome pack of local products, and can supply lots of local knowledge of the village and surrounding area. Just be prepared for people peering, up close, in the window as they walk past, guess they are looking for the meat hooks?! A fabulous place to stay we would be very happy to return.
