For those who like to explore the local heritage, Godinton House and Gardens and Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens, both make for great days out, or hop in the car to nearby Canterbury (7 miles) where you can explore Canterbury Cathedral, or the Kent coast at Whitstable (12 miles) famous for its locally caught oysters.

We stayed for three days in the cottage. It's well located, close to Canterbury in a beautiful small village. The cottage is very well equipped and clean. We were welcomed with some drinks and snacks, and of course the tips and tricks from Kim. Communication upfront was complete and friendly.

I loved my stay at the Old Butchers and would highly recommend. The place is warm and cozy and has everything you need - the kitchen is fully equipped and great to cook in. Kim and Hilary were very welcoming and so were the other locals I met during my stay. I didn't have a car but still found it easy to get places like Canterbury on the train from Chilham and enjoyed the local countryside walks.
