The village of Biddenden is also home to a Squash and Tennis Club. From the Wild Rose you are a short drive from Sissinghurst Castle & Gardens; alternatively, you can embark on a good walk from the Wild Rose to find the renowned, family-run Biddenden Vineyards, where tours, tastings and visits to the on-site shop can be enjoyed. Hush Heath Vineyards, and Chapel Down are two more well established local vineyards that are well worth a visit; a little further afield, you will find Sedlescombe BioDynamic Vineyards, where they provide tours, tastings, lunch and afternoon tea. Why not try your hand at horse riding, which is available at the Apple Tree Stables in Sissinghurst and Bedgebury Forest? Not only does the Bedgebury Pinetum offer great horse riding opportunities, but it is a fantastic local attraction dating back to the Victorian times which is now home to Go Ape. Another superb outing is Leeds Castle, which also hosts a Go Ape as well as Segway tours. You’re within reach of Ashford, a town which boasts a designer outlet, where you can enjoy a spot of retail therapy, browsing bargains from lots of iconic, high street names. The village of Headcorn isn’t far, a short drive away, featuring a local supermarket as well as access to a main line train station, from which you can board trains to London’s Charing Cross very regularly. The unique port town of Tenterden is also within reach, hosting a beautiful high street with vintage shops, two supermarkets, cafes and restaurants, along with a leisure centre housing an indoor swimming pool and gym. Rye is a marvellous town nearby and is well worth a visit; here you will find the delights of Camber Sands and Dungeness, where you can windsurf and kite surf, before exploring the town’s many historic buildings, cobbled streets and underground passageways which date back to pirate and smugglers times; don’t forget to pay the independent cinema of Kino a visit! Hastings is a great place for sightseeing, with its Pier, Old Town, music scene, theatre and picture house taking centre stage. Even in October we were warm and cosy with the underfloor heating. The beds and sofas were comfy. Your own private pond and decking with ducks and moorhens. The whole site had a great ambiance, especially the restaurant. It was quiet, and we felt totally chilled.
