This terraced cottage in Whitstable has been lovingly refurbished by the present owners, transforming a traditional Victorian fisherman's cottage into a spacious, contemporary holiday home close to all the amenities of this vibrant coastal town. The entrance hall is large enough to leave buckets and spades, boots and coats before entering into the spacious open plan living accommodation with its comfy seating and warming, remote control gas woodburner-effect fire, a perfect place to settle down with a good book or a favourite DVD after a day exploring Whitstable and all its attractions. The large, well-equipped kitchen has a breakfast bar at one end, and the French doors can be left open on warm, sunny mornings so you can enjoy coffee and croissants to the sound of seagulls. Upstairs there are three attractive bedrooms, each carefully themed to create a haven of rest so each day can be enjoyed to the full. Dine alfresco in the garden where you can linger over wine and seafood (Whitstable is famous for its oysters) and chat long into the evening, drinking in the sea air. Stepping outside this lovely holiday home you are minutes from an array of quaint local shops, lively bars and numerous restaurants serving everything from continental cuisine to traditional fish and chips; the harbour restaurants are always popular with their daily catch. The shoreline around Whitstable is favoured for all forms of water sports including sailing, and there is nothing so pleasing as to sit and watch the windsurfers glide past as you laze on the beach. After a day exploring, windsurfing, shopping, dining, swimming, sunbathing, cycling or just feeling the cobbles under your feet, return to the welcome of this charming holiday cottage in lovely Whitstable.
Sometimes referred to as the Pearl of Kent, the lively town of Whitstable dates back to before the Domesday Book and is home to a buzzing local museum and art gallery - hosting around six new exhibitions each year and boasting a wonderful coffee shop.
