This mid-terrace cottage sleeping six in the quintessential coastal town of Whitstable is perfectly suited for families and friends. The local high street serves up an enticing selection of independent shops, eateries and pubs. The long, sheltered, shingle beach is perfect for paddling, with the adjacent coastal path inviting seaside walks. Whitstable is steeped in coastal heritage and still maintains a working harbour and Oyster beds blanketing the bay. Accordingly, Whitstable is celebrated for its annual Oyster Festival. Walk along the coastline, past the colourful beach huts at Tankerton to Herne Bay (5 miles) or along the beach in the opposite direction to Seasalter. Bring your bikes to cycle the Crab and Winkle Way, and to venture further afield, hop on the train (station within easy walking distance of the house) for a day trip to Canterbury and explore the beautiful medieval cathedral city.
Step inside this charming, three-story house with its contemporary and coastal aesthetic to enjoy the delightful, open-plan lounge/diner – the social heart of the home. The lounge hosts ample ambient seating with a Smart TV above the fireplace, perfect for a quiet movie night. The rear of this room features a dining table that sits in the light of the garden’s French doors. The kitchen is contemporary and fully equipped to a high standard for making family meals and has a small breakfast bar for chatting with the chef during meal prep. There is also a useful ground-floor shower room just away from the kitchen. After a tiring day out exploring and eating your way around Whitstable, retire upstairs to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the second featuring a double bed. Alighting the attic stairs, the last bedroom awaits with two single beds and a dedicated work desk. The well-appointed family bathroom has a bath with a hand-held shower and a WC.
Outside, you will find an enclosed garden with a patio area with a garden sofa, two chairs and a coffee table. Here, enjoy quiet morning cuppas or al fresco evening meals as the sun sets. There are also two deck chairs stored in the shed for trips to the beach.
Mr Conway
My family and I stayed at Crabby Cottage for a weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday. The cottage exceeded our expectations - good location, comfortable beds and well equipped. And close to the centre of town so no need to use the car in Whitstable. And responded quickly to any queries. We highly recommend the cottage!.
Ms Horz
We had a lovely time. The cottage is well equipped and the location is great. Close to the Main Street and the Harbour.
Mr Taylor
We chose this cottage in Whitstable because it is close to the harbour and idea for walks by the beach without taking the car. The cottage is very pleasant, is well equipted and has lots of nice personal touches by the owner. The weather was good for September so we enjoyed the garden furniture. We used the car park space at the rear at the weekend and managed to park on the road on the front all week.
