The Haybarn in Surrey Hills is praised for its tranquil, rural setting and beautifully appointed decor. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, peaceful surroundings, and thoughtful touches, including a generous welcome hamper. While some guests mention minor issues with facilities and comfort, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
Guests consistently describe the property as immaculate, spotlessly clean, and well-kept, indicating a high standard of cleanliness.
The property is lauded for its stunning, peaceful location in the Surrey Hills, with easy access from London and proximity to nature reserves and local attractions. However, some guests found the access lane narrow and challenging.
Many guests find the beds comfortable and the property cosy, especially with the wood burner. However, a few guests mention that the mattresses were not as comfortable as hoped and that the property size was slightly restrictive for four adults.
The property is generally well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, but some guests felt that additional kitchen equipment and a washing machine would improve the experience. There were also concerns about slow Wi-Fi and slippery showers.
Several reviews mention a generous welcome hamper, indicating the owners' thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, are not guaranteed for every stay.

With accommodation all on one level, enter through bi-folding doors into the open-plan living space. The modern kitchen is well-equipped and the living space has a feature wood burning stove, Smart television and large corner sofa. The dining area is well thought out with a stylish sit-up bar table. To the front of the property, the bi-fold doors open up to bring the outside in, with patio furniture allowing guests to soak up the sun. The hallway leads to two bedrooms. Bedroom one with comfy king-size bed and en-suite bathroom including a walk-in shower and beautiful free-standing bath; bedroom two has an equally comfy double bed and, again, a stylish en-suite with a large walk-in rain shower.
Just down the road is Hurtwood Park and Polo Club, one of the UK’s only polo clubs of its kind, where you can access various facilities and events throughout the year. As well as the smaller towns and villages that surround you, you are just an hour from London, Portsmouth, Brighton and equidistant between Gatwick and Heathrow airports. So there are plenty of places to explore during your stay. The local village pub, The Bulls Head Inn has undergone an extensive refurbishment and is a lovely stroll away from The Haybarn.
