Farnham is a bustling market town surrounded by the picturesque, rolling Surrey Hills with easy access to the capital of London, reached within an hour. Resting within striking distance of the majestic South Downs National Park, Farnham makes a great base for touring the area, littered with plenty of things to see and do. Within the town itself, you will be delighted to find the famous Georgian streets lined with a wealth of independent and quirky shops, offering you and your loved ones a taste of quintessential England. At the heart of the town, is the market, which plays host to an award-winning, weekly market, so you can pick up delicious local produce, all grown, baked, picked or processed all within 50 miles of the market. Whilst here, be sure to brush up on the local history of the town by winding down the streets, where you will find evidence of Stone Age, Roman and Saxon dwellings. Be sure to visit the ruins of Waverley Abbey, found at the loop of the River Wey before discovering the 12th century castle, which was built 1138 AD by Henry de Blois, grandson of William the Conqueror. For keen walkers, the town plays host to a number of walks, which display the history and heritage of the town.
