Guests say

Orchard Lodge is highly praised for its cleanliness, peaceful location, and welcoming hosts. Guests appreciate the thoughtful touches like homemade cakes and the well-equipped facilities. While some find the space cosy, especially for larger groups, the overall experience is very positive, with many expressing a desire to return.

Guests consistently note the lodge's spotless condition and fresh-smelling bedding, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that contributes significantly to the comfort of their stay.

The lodge's quiet, remote setting near the South Downs is appreciated for its tranquillity and picturesque views, although some guests mention limited mobile signal. Its proximity to attractions like Brighton and the South Downs National Park is a plus.

The lodge is generally found to be comfortable with cosy beds and a relaxing atmosphere. However, some guests mention that the space can feel a bit tight for four people and the seating arrangements could be improved for larger groups.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and on-site amenities. Some guests experienced issues with Wi-Fi stability and heating, but these are relatively minor compared to the overall positive feedback.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is frequently mentioned, with guests delighted by welcome gifts such as homemade cakes and wine. While these gestures are highly appreciated, it is noted that such personal touches, though common, are not guaranteed for every stay.

My sister and I were made very welcome and the lodge was warm and cosy. We had everything we needed and enjoyed seeing the deer in the garden. He even came for a visit as we were about to leave. We also saw squirrels and a jay! I would also recommend a visit to the Cider Tap. We didn't drink there, but I took some cans and a bottle away after helpful advice by the owner.

We raised this with the owner and were told the temp must be higher than we thought and they were hot enough in the house. This is a lodge which is different to a house. We are probably a little older than the owners and not over well and sitting there is not as warm . Looking at the previous comments since I see this is a common fault. There needs to be some other means of additional heating which the occupants can control. The bedrooms are very small and a shower caddy would make life easier.

Clean and well equipped. The bedrooms are small but the beds were comfortable and there was ample storage room. We were a party of four adults and found the accommodation ideal for exploring the area. The Bolney Stage is a must for good food and excellent, friendly service. Hazel
