With beautiful views over the Thames and across the valley, this fabulous riverside retreat provides a wonderful hideaway for larger families enjoying a tranquil rural break, or for groups of friends marking a long-awaited reunion. Offering ample space for up to ten guests across five spacious bedrooms, the property has an array of features including an open fire set in a beautiful brick surround, a grand piano and a classic galleried library with a pool table. Enjoying an idyllic location on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, this stunning holiday home has been stylishly furnished, tastefully decorated and sympathetically updated to make a wonderful getaway for walkers, nature lovers and history buffs discovering an idyllic corner of the Berkshire countryside. There’s also a charming boathouse at the river’s edge with access to a small boat which, by arrangement with the owner, you can take along the river towards Henley-on-Thames and Windsor.
Lying on a private gated estate, the house has three welcoming reception rooms, the first being a spacious lounge with an exquisite open fire in an impressive inglenook, with plenty of seating, a Smart TV and a piano. From the lounge, head through to the vaulted library with a pool table, ample seating, a selection of books to browse, and double-height windows allowing light to stream in. There’s also a sweet snug with a corner sofa, perfect for catching up with a good book or watching a film on the Smart TV. Exploring the ground floor further, you will find a grand dining room perfect for hosting family feasts and celebrations. The light, fully equipped kitchen is perfect for rustling up your favourite meals, with a central island and cosy seating. On the first floor you will have a choice of five bright, relaxing bedrooms: three with sumptuous super-king-size beds, one king-size and a lovely double. Two of the bedrooms have refreshing en-suite facilities. Outside, there are several seating areas in the gardens, with a patio close to the house offering a magnificent elevated view over the valley and making a wonderful space for dining alfresco. At the bottom of the garden, a delightful boathouse sits at the edge of the Thames, with a small boat which you can use for days out on the river.
