Guests say

Pike Cottage is a charming and characterful property receiving high praise for its cleanliness, comfort, and friendly owners. The location is ideal for exploring the Cotswolds, with a welcoming pub across the road. Guests appreciate the access to the beautiful garden and the cottage's historical features, though some mention the kitchen is small and the bathroom can be chilly.

Guests consistently describe the cottage as very clean, with multiple reviews highlighting its cleanliness. This suggests that the property is well-maintained and meets high standards of hygiene.

The location is frequently praised for being perfect for exploring surrounding areas and having easy access to local attractions. The proximity to a good pub is also noted as a positive aspect.

Comfort is well-regarded with mentions of a cosy stay, comfortable bed, and lovely open fire. However, some guests noted the bathroom can be cold and the water heater requires time to warm up between showers.

Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the garden and the historical features of the cottage. Criticisms include a small kitchen, limited cooking facilities, and a desire for more cooking implements. The mention of erratic Wi-Fi also suggests room for improvement.

Several guests mention thoughtful touches like a welcome basket, which indicates a degree of thoughtfulness from the hosts. However, as these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, they are a pleasant bonus rather than a standard offering.

Its hexagonal shape made it quirky and interesting and it carried a lot of history, which the owners happily shared. Eileen and Bob were the perfect hosts and we received a very warm welcome. It is well located for walking, cycling and visiting villages. The Fox and Hounds across the road served lovely food and the well equipped kitchen was also good for cooking meals . We loved the bedroom with its exposed beams. Everything was clean and good quality within the cottage. It was lovely to be able to sit outside and share the owners garden, which was charming and beautiful with a seating area and pond. The only downside was that we wanted to stay longer! Everything was perfect, we hope to stay again.

Beautifully furnished and comfortable . The best bed we’ve slept in away from home . All amenities catered for . Charming and friendly hosts , the garden was lovely and peaceful . Fox and Hounds opposite do a lovely Sunday roast . The Old House at Home only a 5 minute drive away does some exceptional fine dining which we would absolutely recommend !

Ideal location for visiting Cotswolds, Bath, Bristol & National Trust properties. Kitchen is small but fine for a couple & there is a nice, friendly pub serving good meals opposite. Owners very pleasant & helpful, it was a joy to share their lovely garden. The only minor issue was the limited hot water in the shower.
