Dating back to the 1700's, and situated on the edge of Poole in the suburb of Hamworthy, charming Fiddlers Green is the perfect cottage for up to four guests, and ideally situated just yards from the water's edge of Poole Harbour.
Hamworthy, on the edge of Poole, was the site of an Iron Age settlement before it was taken over by the Romans in the 1st century, and the Roman Emperor Vespasian brought the Second Augustan Legion to the harbour in 43AD. Located in this area so steeped in nautical history, Fiddlers Green is an attractive cottage dating back to the 1700's, and one of the original properties in the area. This unique cottage boasts a wealth of character features, and offers comfortable accommodation with a semi open-plan layout on the ground floor, which includes a combined sitting and dining room with a double-sided wood burning stove, and a small sun room. The open hallway has a flagstone floor and leads through to the charming kitchen with its beamed ceiling, and also to the ground floor wet room with overhead shower, WC and hand basin.
Stairs lead you to the first floor landing, off which you will find the large double-aspect king-size bedroom, a pretty twin bedroom and the family bathroom with a roll-top bath and separate walk-in shower enclosure. To the rear of the cottage you will find the pretty garden where you can relax with your morning coffee, and plan your day's adventures.
Just steps away is the water's edge and attractive 26 acre harbour-side Hamworthy Park with its own harbour beach, extensive playing fields and stunning views across to National Trust owned Brownsea Island. Stroll along the water's edge to nearby Poole Quay where you can take one of the regular boats across to Brownsea Island, the original home of the scout movement, and now a nature reserve, run in conjunction with Dorset Wildlife Trust. Nature lovers will also enjoy Holes Bay Nature Park, which is just a pleasant walk away. Poole and its neighbour Bournemouth offer an extensive choice of restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops and entertainment venues including The Lighthouse Theatre, and the Bournemouth International Centre, a popular concert venue.

Thank you for a wonderful week in your beautiful cottage. We had a brilliant week enjoying all of the gorgeous beaches and local towns, from Christchurch to Wareham. We also loved the local pub - The Yachtsman and enjoyed meals and the pub quiz there!

Been to Dorset many times - this has been the wettest! However we made the most of the mornings in Arne and Monkey world. Great Cottage in a great location for the rest of Dorset. We celebrated 37 years of marriage and cooked great local produce for our dinner - no need to go to a fancy restaurant if you can cook! Thanks it's been brilliant.
