Unfortunately we’ve been unable assess this category comprehensively enough based on the reviews we’ve received from guests about this property.
The provision of dog biscuits is a thoughtful touch, appreciated by guests. However, as this is the only mention of a thoughtful gesture and gifts are not guaranteed, the score reflects this.
Cassia is a beautifully-decorated lodge located in the delightful village of Kilkhampton, Cornwall. Situated just a short drive from the beach, this pet-friendly retreat is perfect for families, friends and couples seeking a peaceful escape. Be welcomed inside to find a delightful open-plan layout with a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area for you to cook up and tuck into delicious meals, and sofas to cuddle up on for family movie night. After you've freshened up with a shower, the two bedrooms, including a king-size and a twin, offer relaxing spaces to rest after a day of exploration. When the weather is warmer, step outside onto the enclosed front decking, where you can start your day with a morning coffee or bask in the sunshine with a good book. Explore the village of Kilkhampton and after stocking up on essentials at the village shop, take a stroll through the beautiful plains of Kilkhampton Common then head to The New Inn pub for a heartwarming meal. Be sure to visit the nearby coastal town of Bude with its stunning beaches and vibrant shops and why not visit the 19th-century Castle Bude, offering sweeping views of the coast? Take a scenic drive to the port town of Bideford and spend the day at the animal-themed theme park, The BIG Sheep. For a more enriching visit head to The Burton at Bideford Art Gallery and Museum to marvel at the art pieces and exhibitions, and end the day with a family dinner at The White Hart. Cassia promises a lovely getaway for the whole family.
Kilkhampton is an historic Cornish village, 4 miles from the popular Victorian seaside resort of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its old church, village shops and atmospheric village pubs, Kilkhampton is a lovely place to relax after a hard day exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rock pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path, and many other rights-of-way winding over the clifftops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea, make this area a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside. For those who prefer staying closer to home, a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, two clubs and restaurants are on offer. Bude canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town, and rowing a boat along its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two. Within the area there are also 2 golf courses, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley at the leisure centre. A perfect location for all that North Cornwall has to offer.
