The property's remote location offers peace and easy access to local attractions, though the narrow access lanes may challenge some drivers. The large garden and nearby walks are highlights for nature lovers.

The location is highly regarded for its peacefulness and proximity to attractions, though access via narrow lanes is noted. The property's remote setting is appreciated for its tranquility and natural beauty.

Comfort is highlighted with mentions of comfortable beds and well-sized rooms. However, some concerns about heating effectiveness and the need for a grab rail in the bathroom suggest slight room for improvement.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts in the reviews, so it is not possible to assess this category.

About this property

Kilkhampton 1.9 miles. Lee Barton Farmhouse is situated on a working farm in the village Woodford in Cornwall. This original farmhouse retains much of its character with window seats, exposed beams, and a crackling open-fire, ideal for families and friends. On arrival, leave your vehicle in an off-road parking space before entering inside to the porch, where you can leave your muddy boots. The white glossy kitchen has everything you need with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. Settle down at the dining table to tuck-into hearty meals; afterwards step into the sitting room; here you can unwind on the sofa and flicker through the TV. On a summer's day, explore the lawned garden, which offers furniture and mature, shady trees ideal for relaxing. As day draws to night, retire inside and climb upstairs where you can choose between a double and twin bedroom, both with storage to house your belongings. Awaken tired eyes in the bathroom on the first floor with a soak in the tub or a rinse in the shower before exploring your rural location. For your amenities, venture into the historic village of Kilkhampton, home to village shops and traditional pubs to unwind with a pint. Visit the seaside town of Bude for a sweeping sandy beach, coastal walks, a golf course, and an ancient castle to unveil the past. Also with easy reach is the opulent mansion of Hartland Abbey, The Clovelly Waterfall for a scenic spot and the unique The BIG Sheep for a day filled with fun. For a countryside stay in Cornwall, choose Lee Barton Farmhouse.

Kilkhampton is a Cornish settlement 4 miles from Bude, a prominent Victorian coastal town. Kilkhampton's old church, village stores, and pubs are great places to relax after a day of exploring the area's beaches and coastal landscapes. When circumstances are correct, you won't find better surf than on Bude's beaches. When the tide is out, golden sand and rock pools keep visitors busy for hours. The South West Coast Path and other paths flowing over clifftops and through green fields make this a refuge for walkers and nature enthusiasts. For those who want to stay near to home, there's a shopping centre, pubs, clubs, and restaurants. Rowing a boat down Bude canal's tranquil waters or walking the towpath among the gorgeous (and friendly) water fowl is a great way to spend an hour or two. Two golf courses, an indoor pool, and a bowling alley are nearby. North Cornwall's best location.

It was so quiet and peaceful. I am not used to this as i live in a town house. An ideal place if you like walking or cycling. I have an electric car and it was abit of a challenge getting my car charged in Cornwall as i could not use my granny charger at the farmhouse. That didn't spoil my stay in this lovely farmhouse. Thank you. Regards Barry.

The farmhouse is well equipped with beautiful views over a valley and when we stayed was very quiet and peaceful. As the details state the shower is over the bath. The bath is quite high sided and would benefit from a grab rail to assist both children and the older person when getting in and out. The heating was from night storage heaters and not particularly effective even prior to winter (a very chilly end of September) and there was no heating in the large hallway outside the bathroom, in the bathroom itself or in the downstairs hallway or kitchen which you need to be aware of if planning a winter visit. The farm is accessed via the very narrow lanes (a car width only) that are common in this area. There are limited passing places although we managed not to meet any traffic although this was simply good luck. Tractors use these lanes and the day we were leaving we had to assist a lorry driver who was attempting to reverse into a very narrow opening. If you aren’t confident driving in these conditions this is not for you. If you are it’s a delightful area with Duck Pool bay only about a mile away (a short pleasant stroll) and easy access to the towns and villages of both Devon and Cornwall. Bonus, if you like cats, is Rebel who is exceptionally friendly and enjoys sitting outside the window in the sun although he will stroll in if given the opportunity!

It was well equipped with a new kitchen and sofas in the sitting room. Very comfortable double bed upstairs in a very roomy bedroom. It’s an old farmhouse with steep stairs- should be noted for very young children or elderly grandparents! Wonderful large garden right outside for youngsters to let off steam. An additional light in dining area would be an improvement.
