Guests say

Guests generally enjoy the lodge's homely feel, well-equipped kitchen, and the added luxury of a hot tub. The property's location in a holiday village with on-site amenities and the surrounding views are appreciated. Some guests have highlighted issues with maintenance and cleanliness, but these do not overshadow the overall positive experiences. Welcoming touches such as treats and decorations are noted and appreciated.

Cleanliness receives mixed reviews. While some guests found the lodge clean and well-presented, others reported issues such as cobwebs, a smell of dogs, and unclean kitchen drawers. The presence of both positive and negative comments suggests variability in cleaning standards.

The location is praised for its privacy, views, and being a good base for exploring the surrounding areas. However, some guests found the lodge challenging to locate and suggested better signage and directions, especially for arrivals after dark.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, with guests enjoying the homely touches and comfortable beds. However, some guests mentioned issues with hard mattresses, worn sofas, and a lack of heating control, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

Facilities are appreciated, such as the well-equipped kitchen and on-site amenities. However, there are several reports of maintenance issues like problematic showers, non-working appliances, and unreliable hot water supply, which impacts the score.

Guests often mention and appreciate the thoughtful gestures, such as treats and decorations, which contribute to a welcoming atmosphere. It's important to note that these gifts, while delightful, are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Would be good to add some to the kitchen as it was blank in comparison. Thanks for the very well fitted kitchen which allowed us to cook home cooked food. It was hard to find the property due to the one way system and only finding the sign on the way back out. Would be good to advise holidaymakers of the upper parking location before they arrive in case there is no room down the bottom and unloading from the top is easier. Decking could do with jet washing regularly to stop it going green and slippery. Would have loved to have been able to walk the dog directly on to neighbouring countryside without getting in the car.

I love the lounge with its view. The beds were really comfortable and there was lots of equipment in the kitchen to be able to self cater. I was a bit worried having read some of the reviews but the property is lovely and was very clean when we arrived. We enjoyed using the pool and had a lovely meal at the little on site pub. Getting hot water was a bit of a challenge (although the electric shower worked fine) and it would have been good if the hot tub could have been cleaned mid week (it started going green). Also not sure what had been in the drawers in the main bedroom before our visit but they need a clean (as there was a smell of wee).

Wonderfully clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The decor is lovely and feels like a home from home. We had a great time and the views were lovely even in the February rain.
