The Reading Room is a beautiful converted chapel settled in the hamlet of Seworgan near Constantine in Cornwall. This stone-built property is single-storey and enjoys original features with its vaulted beamed ceilings, along with contemporary décor. Bring along your other half for a romantic escape to the Cornish countryside and park up in the off-road parking space. Stepping through the French doors, discover the bright and airy living space, with a stylish kitchen area to whip up culinary delights courtesy of the electric oven and hob. When dinner is served, take a seat at the dining table and toast to your hideaway; afterwards unwind on the plush sofa to flicker through the Smart TV. On sunny days, why not bask in the sun on the outdoor furniture, where a barbecue entices you to rustle up tasty treats? As the evening draws to a close, retire inside and have a soothing soak in the bathroom and after you can relish the warmth of the underfloor heating beneath your feet. Climb into your pyjamas and snuggle up in the double bed with a hot chocolate; bedside lamps tempt some late-night reading. The Reading Room is nestled in a 13 acre small holding home to a flock of native sheep, goats and Harry the Cleveland bay horse. Views from the property extend over rolling pasture and wooded slopes down to the stream which in turn feeds into the Helford River in Gweek (a good three mile stomp away). The village of Gweek has a shop selling local produce, a cafe, a pub and is home to The Cornish Seal Sanctuary (a perfect day out for animal and nature lovers alike). The superb gardens including Penjerrick, Glendurgan, and Carwinion are also all within 4 miles, as well as Trebah, a sub-tropical paradise with a stunning coastal backdrop. Embark on an adventure to the coastal town of Falmouth, where history buffs can marvel at the grand Pendennis Castle (built by Henry VII), unwind on Gyllyngvase Beach to savour the seaside views or why not go to Porthleven to one of the many great eateries and restaurants. The Reading Room is a superb base for beach days, delicious food, cycling, walking, and exploring tranquil gardens. For a romantic break like no other, choose this beautiful property.
Set among lush rolling meadows and wooded slopes flowing down to the gorgeous Helford river, just 3 miles away, this very quaint small community has a few shops, a pub, and a lovely church. The superb gardens of Trebah, Penjerrick, Glendurgan, and Carwinion are all within 4 miles of this quieter region of Cornwall, which is known for its warm temperature. The hosts were so friendly and did everything to make our stay comfortable. The Reading Room is a perfect get-away-from-it-all location. Centrally positioned to be able to explore both Cornish coastlines. Would thoroughly recommend this gem of a property.
