Waters Edge is a well-received cottage in Cornwall, praised for its cleanliness, comfortable setting, and thoughtful touches like a welcome bottle of milk. The property boasts a lovely location with beautiful surroundings, though some guests noted minor maintenance issues. The kitchen is well-equipped, and the property provides a relaxing atmosphere with its stream-side decking area.
Guests generally found the cottage to be very clean and tidy, with only a few mentioning the need to clean light shades upon arrival. The overall impression is that the property is well-maintained in terms of cleanliness.
The location is frequently described as lovely, with pleasant views and proximity to the beach and local attractions. However, some guests experienced difficulty finding the property after dark, suggesting better signage could improve the experience.
The cottage is considered comfortable, with a well-heated house and a relaxing lounge area. Some guests mentioned the need for rugs in winter for additional warmth and a larger bed for taller individuals.
While the kitchen is well-equipped and the property offers nice facilities, there are several comments about maintenance issues such as worn oven symbols, non-working taps, and a problematic showerhead. These issues suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.
The reviews mention thoughtful gestures like a welcome bottle of milk and tea and coffee, which are appreciated by guests. However, as gifts are not consistently referenced across reviews, it is not possible to guarantee their provision, and thus the score is set to null.
Waters Edge is a charming property perched on the edge of a stream, within the village of Gardens, a purpose built, privately owned group of properties close to the beach at Maenporth in Falmouth. Boasting excellent onsite facilities, including tennis courts, children’s play area and an indoor plunge pool, this is a great choice for families. The open plan living area is a bright and airy space to socialise, either on the sumptuous sofa or at the dining table over a delightful home-cooked meal. The kitchen comes well-equipped with all you could require during a short stay, including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and even a dishwasher and washing machine, so you won’t have to lift a finger when washing up! As you tire, head to the bedrooms to catch your rest, offering a double and two twins, each neutrally furnished and completed with plenty of storage. The bathroom is where you can prepare for the day, stepping into the bath and shower over enclosure for a refreshing rinse, or you can also enjoy a relaxing soak following a day of walking. To the outside is a decked area with furniture, perfect for some alfresco dining on a balmy evening, along with allocated parking for one car. As with all of the cottages, you are just a short walk from the Splash Pool and Gym. The Village of Gardens is equidistant between Maenporth and Swanpool beaches. Everyone loves Swanpool for the cafe, sand and swimming while Maenporth is perhaps a little more relaxed but equally as special; both offer fantastic restaurants and sandy shores so you really are spoilt for choice. North Helford and Falmouth are perhaps the quintessential Cornish visitor destinations; a mix of beach, creek and woodland serve some of our most interesting and historic villages and towns. Falmouth itself is home to the National Maritime Museum, visitors will enjoy an amble through the narrow streets and possibly a boat trip across the River Fal or up the Truro River. Discover Cornwall like never before on a stay at Waters Edge.

We stayed here as a couple so we had tons of room. Everything was well equipped there were also board games, dvds and books and lots of other useful bits in the cupboard under the stairs. We didn't get to explore pendra loweth much ourselves as the weather was very wet and we spent most of our time off site. We did eat at the onsite cafe/bar Joyfuel and it was amazing! We went there for tex mex night on sat and also taco Tuesday the food was out of this world. Would have found a welcome pack useful just a site map, reminder of contact number and where to find the wifi code. Apologies if there was one and we just didn't find it. The owner was very friendly when we needed to contact them. Would fully recommend waters edge.

Very well equipped kitchen. Lovely and warm when we arrived as requested as we had our young grandson with us. Beautiful site, so pretty and well maintained gardens. Perfect for us visiting our son in Penryn.

A few little niggles. The car parking is tights but we managed. The front door doesn't always unlock had to jiggle the key. Need to add details of leaving requirements. Catches needed to secure the barn door to wall when open and to the back doors so you can open up.
