A truly harbourside property with a sun deck and amazing views. It offers a high standard of accommodation and water access for fishing or boating.

As the name implies, The Old Boathouse is located literally at the water's edge and it would be hard to find a holiday home closer to the river than this. It has superb views across to Fowey harbour, a deck beside the river and direct water access. Polruan's village shops, two characterful inns and the quay are all within a few minutes' walk.

From the quay visitors can hop on a ferry to the sailing town of Fowey famous for its yearly Regatta. This is Daphne du Maurier country and the acclaimed Fowey festival attracts many to its talks, walks, plays and poetry. Surrounded by miles of beautiful coast and countryside, opportunities for walking abound. There is a scenic 1.5 mile coastal walk to sandy Lantic Bay, and the popular Hall Walk will take you from Polruan to Fowey via Bodinnick and two ferries. Messing about on the river is a favourite pastime and visitors can use the owner's frape for keeping a small boat (up to 15 feet) or a boat hired from Fowey River Boat Hire. In addition there are numerous sea and river cruises, fishing trips and kayaks for hire.

The Old Boathouse is a stunning property that is equipped to the highest of standards. The living room is open plan and open-beamed and very light and spacious. It has superb full length windows providing fantastic harbour views and French doors which open onto a generous teak deck right beside the water.  A large TV, smart wood-burning stove, glass dining table and lovely oak kitchen all help to make this a very special place. The kitchen is equipped with high quality appliances and there is a separate 'snug' for independent TV viewing. The master bedroom is beside the water with wonderful harbour views from a bay window which has been built as a 'flying bridge', cantilevered out over the water.  The second large double bedroom is located at the rear of the living room and has glass doors allowing views of the harbour through the living room. Two sets of carefully designed curtains give total privacy when required.  The third twin bedroom has large windows that open onto a small private courtyard.

Outside a beautiful teak deck is the perfect place to soak up the sun, enjoy an evening cocktail and watch the boats go sailing by.

Accommodation: Ground Floor: Living area with TV, stereo, iPod dock. Kitchen area with electric induction hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.  Snug with TV/DVD. Utility room with washing machine. Bedroom 1 with Double and en-suite with bath, shower, WC and basin. Bedroom 2 with Double and en-suite with shower, WC and basin. Bedroom 3 with Twin. Bathroom with shower, WC and basin.

Facilities and Services: Linen and towels. Under-floor heating. No smoking. Regret no pets. WiFi. Deck furniture. Short breaks available. Unloading within 100 yards of property and parking is available in the car park approx. 500 yards away. Arr/Dep for weekly bookings is Friday. Please note: Steps lead from the balcony down to a path and further granite steps to the water. The path does also allow occupants of neighbouring properties to use the granite steps to gain access to the water. However, this shared use is usually limited to August and any loss of privacy is minimal and limited to very short periods of time. As this property is accessed by steps, some visitors may find it inconvenient and due to the water frontage it is not recommended for children under eight.
