Guests say

Gwarth An Drae is a well-received cottage in Helston, praised for its comfortable beds, good parking, and quiet location. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness and the well-kept garden, making it a cosy stay. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with recommendations for future visitors.

The property is generally described as clean, with one review highlighting it as the cleanest they've stayed in. However, one mention of the kitchen needing more attention slightly lowers the score.

The location is ideal for exploring Helston and the south coast, with easy access to local shops and eateries. Its proximity to attractions like the Lizard Peninsula is a plus.

Guests find the beds very comfortable and the property quiet at night, contributing to a restful stay. The mention of it being warm at night during a particularly hot period slightly affects the score.

Facilities are well-regarded, with a full-size fridge freezer and good quality TV. However, points are deducted for maintenance issues like the broken shower holder and fluctuating shower temperature.

There is no mention of gifts or additional thoughtful touches provided by the host, so it is not possible to assess this category.

Very much enjoyed staying there. Beds were good, especially in the bedroom at the front - the mattress was excellent. Liked that it was very quiet at night. Full size fridge freezer. Good quality TV. Plenty of space for parking for 2 cars. The property was clean, but the kitchen could have done with a bit more care on the work surfaces, cupboard shelves and some crockery. Bathroom was good but the shower temperature fluctuated and the holder for the hand held part is broken. Suggestions for improvement are better curtains in front bedroom as they let in way too much light, and put in an extractor fan in the kitchen (not just filter fan) to properly vent out cooking/washing up steam. Didn't use the dishwasher as there were not enough place settings to make it worthwhile. Liked the deep draining board to keep down the splashes. A second key would also be very helpful - it was kind of the owner to respond quickly to my text asking about a spare key, but it was a bit inconvenient only having 1 key between us.

Probably the cleanest property we have stayed in. Easy to find once ,we ignored our Sat Nat which took us on a circuitous route

Good parking (for 2 cars). Ideal for the lizard peninsula and even to travel to tintagel. Once inside it was well presented. Our only issue was with shower because the small head fitting to hold it up was missing. Overall a lovely place to stay.
