About this property
... a mile from Port Navas is Calamansack, a hamlet of cottages down a private lane beside the broad Helford River, looking over it and Frenchman’s Creek to wooded hillsides and fields. Lots of birds (swans, curlews, buzzards, herons and egrets), animals (foxes, badgers). Constantine, 3½ miles. We let two cottages here. An infinitely peaceful scene, excellent for birdwatchers.
... Creek Cottage is semi-detached, in a wonderful position with uninterrupted views. Paved courtyard (picnic table, barbecue, flowers, herbs); steep steps up to tiny 'hideaway' garden with seat (river/boating views). In front, a lane leads to the shore with quiet, sheltered picnic spots beneath trees, and a slipway where small boats can be launched. Farmhouse and three other old cottages (see S412) nearby.
The cottage has been enlarged and updated to make a comfortable family home. Living room with old inglenook fireplace (woodburner), beams, paintings, TV/DVD, light with two windows (wonderful river views to Frenchman's Creek). Fitted kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer). Utility area (washing machine, tumble drier) with side door. Shower-room (suite). Steep stairs (stairgate) up to three bedrooms – a double with dressing/cot room and en suite shower-room (suite), and two twin, one with 2'6" beds (zip-linkable to 5' double); bathroom (suite, shower over bath plus hand-shower).
