Lavender Barn in Newquay, Cornwall, is a well-regarded cottage praised for its comfort, prime location near the beach, and cosy atmosphere. Guests appreciate the welcoming touches, such as scones on arrival, and the property's proximity to local amenities. While some minor maintenance issues and cleanliness niggles are mentioned, the overall sentiment is positive, with many guests planning return visits.
Most guests found Lavender Barn to be clean and well-kept, though there were occasional mentions of cleanliness issues such as dusty cobwebs and a dirty cutlery drawer. These seem to be isolated incidents rather than a general trend.
The location of Lavender Barn is highly praised for being close to the beach, local pubs, and shops. The quiet and peaceful setting in a lovely village is a highlight for many guests.
Guests frequently mention the comfortable bed and furnishings. However, some noted issues with mattress comfort and a desire for a TV in the bedroom, slightly affecting the overall comfort score.
The barn is well-equipped with a good kitchen and comfortable living space. Points were deducted for maintenance issues like BBQ cleanliness, heating problems, and lighting control, which were brought up by several guests.
Guests often express appreciation for the thoughtful touches such as the welcome scones, jam, and cream. It's important to note that while these gestures are well-received, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

Perfect location. Had issues on day 1 with other property parking cars blocking us in but this was sorted immediately. More included than we thought at the barn so more detail would have been useful as we took everything but the kitchen sink with us! Bed was comfortable but pillows were too soft. Personal opinion and wish we had taken our own. Fantastic location, fantastic place!

Would be lovely if an Enclosed pathway could be made to to the garden now the lavender bushes have been taken out from the front door so we can let dog out and have front door open .

It is nicely positioned up a private but shared drive which helps to make it feel safe. For us the biggest drawbacks are that the garden is detached from the property. I am sure with consultation with the local planning authority some steps from the frontage area could be put in so that access in the rear garden could be made with out having to go out in the drive. This would be so much better for privacy and safety for pets. The Property would also benefit from having a TV in the bedroom for those of us who don't always sleep very well. and perhaps the provision of a small fan, would contribute to making it a perfect holiday home. One thing we feel Lavender Barn dose fail on, is the absence of any sun loungers in the garden, particularly as we like to use the garden for a large part of our stay. Just a few things could make Lavender Barn so much better.
