About this property

Waverley is a delightful dormer bungalow with sea views on the outskirts of Mevagissey, Cornwall. Set in a quiet area overlooking a grassy common and a sea view of St. Austell Bay, this dog-friendly, family-friendly holiday home makes the perfect escape. On arrival, find ample roadside parking just outside the property and make your way through the front courtyard and into the home. Once inside, you can find a sitting room enjoying the sea views, home to a TV for your evening entertainment after a busy day of exploring. From here, the kitchen/diner has all you need for a self-catering stay, along with a handy washing machine for freshening up clothes and towels after a day at the beach. When sleep calls, choose from three neat bedrooms; a king-size rests on the first floor, while the remaining double and single lie on the ground floor, making Waverley a convenient choice for a multigenerational group! Serving the bedrooms is a sleek shower room where you can wash away the sand or prepare for a day out. To the rear of the home, you can also find a private courtyard, inviting you to savour your morning coffee in the fresh air. Waverley has easy access to the coastal path which runs within yards of the cottage, meaning that Polstreath Beach can be reached by a short walk. Mevagissey harbour is just a stroll away from this lovely Cornwall cottage and you will find plenty to amuse the family, including an aquarium, a model railway centre, shops and cafés and of course the hustle and bustle of a traditional Cornish working harbour. There are plenty of attractions within an easy drive of Waverley including, Caerhays Castle, the UK's only mining heritage centre at Wheal Martyn, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Charlestown Shipwreck and Heritage Centre. Of course, Cornwall is also home to many safe, clean beaches and welcoming pubs, making this Waverley a wonderful base for an active family holiday.

The perfect Cornish fishing village, with winding cobbled streets and a picturesque harbour full of boats. Stunning walks lead along the coast in both directions, with sandy beaches, high cliffs and hidden coves to explore. The village has an excellent selection of pubs and restaurants, whilst just up the road are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. A ferry from Mevagissey to Fowey also runs daily between Easter and September. Spend some time at the Tall Ships harbour at Charlestown (7 miles) with its shipwreck museum, or among the tropical biomes of the world-famous Eden Project (11 miles). The stunning coastline, fabulous beaches and renowned gardens of the beautiful Roseland Peninsula are a short drive down the coast while Truro, with its shops, restaurants, theatre and cathedral can be reached by car in half an hour.

The beds were all extremely comfortable, the garden was great and the views were marvellous. I would recommend this property for families, couples or friends with dogs. The proximity to the coastal path, beach, a variety of walks and other attractions and Mevigissey was excellent. For us the only way it could be improved is by having a smart TV and a dishwasher. We would love to stay again!

Very comfortable and lovely views. The field next to it is great for the dog and the coastal walk into Mevagissey is fine just steep coming back up the road way. Not a problem for us but might be for people with walking difficulties. The owners do inform you of this beforehand and the car park in Mevagissey is free after 4pm which was very helpful to be told not sure about summer time though. Lovely big kitchen for us to cook and table extends. Beds are comfortable. Thank you for the lovely goodies that were left, much appreciated.

The view from the front of the house is absolutely brilliant and we watched sunrises whilst enjoying our morning cuppas. The facilities at the Waverley make it just like being at home the back entrance was really good for ensuring the dog didn't walk any dirt through the house.
