Guests have praised the Meridian apartment in St. Ives for its stunning sea views, quiet atmosphere, and spacious, well-appointed interiors. The location is ideal for exploring Carbis Bay and the vicinity, with easy access to local transport. Thoughtful touches like binoculars and starter provisions have been appreciated, though some minor maintenance issues and a non-operational lift have been noted.
The apartment is generally found to be very clean by guests, with only a single mention of windows needing a clean, which suggests a high standard of cleanliness overall.
The location is highly praised for its incredible views and proximity to Carbis Bay and St. Ives, with the convenience of the local train station being frequently mentioned.
The apartment is described as comfortable and spacious, with good-sized bedrooms and en suite bathrooms. However, some guests experienced issues with heating and a non-operational lift, which affected their comfort.
Facilities are generally well-received, with the apartment being well-equipped. However, points are deducted for reported maintenance issues such as non-working bulbs, a broken clock, and the lift being out of order, which impacted the convenience for guests.
Guests have noted and appreciated thoughtful touches like the provision of binoculars, starter provisions, and entertainment options. However, as gifts are not guaranteed and there were suggestions for additional items, the score reflects room for improvement in this area.
Facing one-mile northeast of St Ives, in subtropical splendour is Carbis Bay, one of Cornwall’s best kept secrets, and here you will find Meridian, a lovely spacious top floor apartment overlooking the sea. Meridian can sleep up to four people, so this property is a great place for a small family or a group of friends, with the open-plan living affording you the room to relax as the sea air drifts in through the velux windows. On entering the property there is a spacious hallway, leading to the dining area containing a gorgeous solid wood table big enough for all the party and some visiting friends to sit round for a meal, before taking your glass of wine over to the sitting area where you can sink into the sofas and continue the conversation. Pile up those plates and take them into the kitchen where you can make use of the dishwasher, along with many other modern appliances like the electric oven, gas hob and washing machine, making this an attractive and well-equipped kitchen, decorated in a traditional style. All throughout the property there are sloping ceilings and velux windows, showering the natural light in, and this continues to the other side of the apartment where the bedrooms and bathrooms can be found. There is a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room so mum and dad can definitely take this one, with a twin room across the way with a Jack-and-Jill entrance to the shower room. There are sea views from the windows in the sitting area, and this property also benefits from an allocated parking space for one car in the gated development, so you can leave the car safely behind while you explore the shores of Cornwall. Carbis Bay is one of the best family beaches in Cornwall due to the lack of surf and relatively calm waters, so you can happily take your toddlers to the beach for a swim, and it even has facilities right on the beachfront. Take the train from Carbis Bay over to St Ives, and you will enjoy one of the most beautiful train journeys you’ve ever had, and arrive at this busy fishing port that is home to an array of gorgeous sandy beaches that surround the town. St Ives is home to the Tate Gallery for those art lovers, as well as the Church of St Ia which dominates the St Ives skyline, built in the 15th century, and which contains the Madonna and Child carving by the well-known sculptor Barbara Hepworth, created in memory of her son. Make Meridian your family getaway, enjoying the fantastic seafront location and easy links to St Ives.
Carbis Bay is a seaside town, with stretches of white sand and sheltered conditions, it is just a short drive from St Ives. The beach is home to Ocean Sports Centre, so for those that don’t want to sunbathe you can try something new like kayaking to see the coast from the water. There is a boutique hotel, and some local shops and restaurants as well as a train station so you can go further afield whenever you like.

We have stayed at this property before and knew it was suitable for our requirements. However on arrival this time we were very upset to discover the lift was out of order and had been for sometime . We were not notified by the holiday company Sykes about this , otherwise we would have changed the booking ! We struggled for the whole week which totally ruined our holiday.

Lovely views out of the lounge windows too. We took our two grandchidren and they were pleased to see lots of Playstation games and DVD's etc. The only thing that we found annoying was we booked several months ago and the information said the lift wasn't working at that time. we thought it might have been fixed but sadly not. We are both getting on in years and the climb up the two flights of stairs with all our cases and paraphernalia with 2 grandchildren was rather exhausting so it would be nice to see the lift working (especially after the climb up the hill from the beach every day!) Other than that the only thing was the central heating kept coming on even though we turned the thermostat right down so it was rather warm at times. Bedrooms are a good size with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and great to see lots of coat hangers in the wardrobe rather than the 3 or 4 that a lot of places provide. The 2 good size en suite bathrooms were great as well with plenty of towels provided. All in all it is a lovely apartment with great facilities and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

It was superb in all aspects, very very clean, roomy, comfortable, fully equipped with every device one could want. Well organised arrival with explicit instructions on obtaining keys to enter the building & apartment & to open the powered gate for parking. The views were fantastic , use of a lovely garden overlooking Carbis Bay. Saying it was perfect doesn't do it justice. It was exceptional. J & S Hill
