Guests appreciate the quiet location, ideal for exploring local attractions and the cosy atmosphere, especially the log fire. Some concerns were raised about cleanliness, maintenance, and difficulty in locating the property.

Reviews on cleanliness are mixed, with some guests finding the property clean and well-maintained, while others reported issues with dog hairs and kitchen cleanliness. The property seems to require more consistent attention to detail in this area.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions, making it an ideal base for sightseeing and enjoying the natural beauty of North Cornwall. However, some guests noted difficulty in finding the property and parking challenges.

Guests generally find the cottage comfortable and cosy, with quality bed linen and a warm log fire. However, there are comments about low sofas and the property not being ideal for those with mobility issues, which slightly affects the comfort score.

The cottage boasts high-quality Miele appliances and is well-equipped for a holiday stay. Nonetheless, guests have mentioned issues with maintenance such as gaps in fencing, problems with TV reception, and a lack of certain amenities like wine glasses and a washing line.

While guests have mentioned the high-quality appliances and the provision of a log fire, there are no specific references to gifts or special thoughtful touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, it is not possible to score this category.

About this property

Mill Pond, a delightful, stone-fronted bungalow is situated in a sheltered, rural spot just outside St Minver, only a short journey to the local, Cornish beaches. Homely and welcoming with original features throughout, this self-catering holiday home has been sympathetically renovated, yet still retains plenty of charm. With an enclosed patio and garden, and private parking, four guests are welcomed, along with pets on prior arrangement. With a barbecue provided, make the most of the warmer evenings and sit out on the patio, ready for an alfresco affair, whilst the living area is open plan, where a partially vaulted ceiling provides a great feeling of space. The beams and stone fireplace with granite sill add to the character of this room; relax here after a busy day of adventures. Two bedrooms are on offer, one with a double bed, and the other with twin beds, both serviced by a bathroom. Perfectly situated to discover the best of North Cornwall, choose from the nearby beautiful beaches of Rock, Daymer Bay and Polzeath, whether you want sail, swim, or surf. The market town of Wadebridge is a car journey away, with its interesting independent shops, cinema, and restaurants, along with being the midpoint of the Camel Trail, a level cycle track built on a former railway line. Pay Port Isaac a visit; this historic and picturesque fishing village is a pleasure to spend a few hours, watching fishing boats unload lobster pots, and wander around narrow lanes in between tiny, whitewashed, former fishermen's cottages. All of this awaits at Mill Pond.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village.

Very well situated for some very pritty coastal areas and beaches. If you have a dog with you Rock is a beauty.

John Bray really need to supply a Google map of where it is. Giving directions from Rock is just bizarre now we don't have to pick up the key first from the office. People are most likely to be travelling from the motorway. Property still needs basics like a washing line and decent outdoor table and chairs. Old slimy picnic bench is too wet to use most of the time. At least with plastic chairs guests could wipe them clean. I say this every year I write feedback... but please sort out the parking spaces. Mark out the bays. On the first week we had 2 really inconsiderate drivers taking up all 4 concrete spaces with their selfish parking while we parked in the mud. We saw a shrew running to and from under the washing machine, please check for holes in exterior walls? John Bray need to make it easier to report problems while on holiday via email as no phone reception in cottage.

Bit hard to find initially - could do with a sign at the forks to help guide. Nice fully equipped kitchen etc. Private little garden with BBQ.
