Lowenna Manor 4 is a well-situated cottage in Rock, Cornwall, praised for its spacious accommodation, comfortable beds, and proximity to local amenities and the beach. Guests have enjoyed the warm house and the lawn area, which is ideal for children to play. The property's location is excellent for exploring the area and coastal walks.
Guests have reported that the property could benefit from a deeper clean, with some mentioning grubby surfaces, dust, cobwebs, and a need for better maintenance of the garden area.
The property is highly regarded for its location, with easy access to the beach, local shops, and ferry services. It is also noted for being a great base for coastal walks and exploring the area.
The comfort of the beds and the warmth of the house have been highlighted as positives. However, some guests mentioned the need for better garden furniture and the lack of a BBQ, which affected the overall comfort during their stay.
While the property is well-equipped, guests have suggested improvements such as updating the crockery, providing basic kitchen essentials, and addressing maintenance issues like the shower and garden furniture. The lack of a working TV and issues with parking have also been noted.
There are no mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate the thoughtfulness of the host, therefore this category cannot be scored.
Lowenna Manor 4 occupies a prime position in the centre of Rock village, on the North Cornwall coast, with great amenities and beach all within walking distance. This stylishly-furnished, three-storey property has a terrace and a secure, private garden with space for any sporting equipment, surfboards and wetsuits, making it a wonderful base for a family trip to the shore. The first floor of Lowenna Manor 4 benefits from a king-size bedroom, with doors leading out to a lovely balcony, allowing the outside in. There is a bathroom and a single bedroom across the landing, ideal for a young child, whilst the second-floor bedroom with en-suite bathroom is accessed from an open staircase, more suited to older children, grandparents, or friends. Downstairs the ground-floor is open-plan, and the lounge/diner has a wonderful light, bright feel with French windows onto the garden. A useful terrace with garden furniture is the perfect setting for family meals on balmy days, before following the wonderful walking trails from the property, along the footpaths of St Enodoc golf course and onto Rock Beach or Daymer Bay. There are plenty of local shops for groceries along the Rock Road, including a baker, butcher, deli, and a fishmonger. Guests can also pop down to the nearby Porthilly Farm to buy oysters and mussels freshly harvested from the Camel estuary. An extremely convenient restaurant lies almost opposite Lowenna Manor 4, and many more options for eating out can be found a little further down the Rock Road. With so many watersports on offer, from sailing to surfing, windsurfing, and waterskiing, it would be hard for anyone to get bored in Rock and nearby Polzeath. If you do fancy a change of scenery though, families can spend a day on the other side of the estuary by taking the little ferry over to the vibrant harbour side of Padstow; the town has plenty of opportunities for shoppers, gourmets, and children, while thrill seekers can take advantage of a speedboat ride or a more leisurely cruise aboard the Jubilee Queen. Make memories as a family from Lowenna Manor 4.

The price for the week was on offer so we paid nearly half price plus additional fee for two dogs, if we'd paid the full price I would be asking for a refund. It is a spacious and light property, downstairs is comfortable and having an enclosed garden with dogs is a real bonus. However, it was not very clean, the downstairs windows were cloudy inside the double glazing and the windowsills covered in dirt. The plastic cover on the dining table was sticky and curled up at the edges. Although big enough to seat 5 or more you can't get the chairs around it as it is pushed into the corner and very close to the sofa. The cutlery is very cheap and nasty and one cupboard had a load of out of date food in it. The freezer drawers were dirty. The cupboard under the stairs was a mess. The bedrooms were all very nice, comfortable beds and nice furniture. The carpet however was a hard scratchy material and there are a number of stains on it. It was not nice to walk on with bare feet. The main bathroom was large and towels provided were lovely. There needs to be a warning about the shower, it has a very high step up into it and nothing to hold onto when getting out, this would definitely not be easy for someone with mobility issues or an elderly person, I am not surprised there are no photos of the shower as it has a lot of black mould around the door and bottom of tiles. The shower in the top bedroom is over a bath so not able to use this as an alternative. The bedroom balcony is not lovely as described, it has two dirty tatty garden chairs on it and the decking is dirty. The cottage is well positioned, near shops and a short walk to the beach. It is in a quiet area and has nice lawns to the front.

Only issue was one of the windows wouldn't open in the bedroom, making it a bit hot. But other than that perfect, thanks so much

Living space and garden wise I am not sure that I would want to be a party of 6 staying there. The garden furniture only has 2 seats. There is no outside tap, which for a house that offers the ability for pets seems like a big miss. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay
