Guests say

Mulberry Mews is praised for its excellent location in Seaton, close to the beach and local amenities. The property offers a cosy and comfortable stay, with a private outdoor area and convenient parking. While some guests have concerns about cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience is seen as a charming seaside getaway.

Reviews indicate a mix of experiences regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage lovely and clean, while others reported issues such as cobwebs and found items from previous guests, suggesting inconsistency in cleaning standards.

The location is highly praised for being close to the beach, shops, and restaurants, as well as offering easy access to the Coastal path and Seaton tramway, making it an ideal spot for a seaside holiday.

Guests describe the cottage as cosy and comfortable, suitable for small to medium-sized families and pet-friendly. However, some guests felt the space was cramped for larger groups, affecting the comfort level.

Facilities are generally appreciated, especially the private outdoor area and parking convenience. However, there are several negative comments about the outdoor space's condition, broken blinds, and the need for better maintenance.

There is no mention of gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews provided, so it is not possible to assess the thoughtfulness of the host in this regard.

About this property

A cottage sleeping five with a garden in the heart of Seaton. Minutes walk from the shops and seafront.

This characterful family-friendly property is a lovely place to base yourself for a holiday on the Devon coast where you’ll have easy access to the Jurassic Coast. While away your days hunting for fossils, searching in rock pools and soaking up the serene views.

Offering a cosy space to unwind, the living room is a lovely space with exposed beams, an exposed stone fireplace and a wood burner. Next door, the charm continues into the kitchen/diner where a dinner table for four and ample space to cook up a storm can be found. Completing the ground floor is the bathroom with a shower over the bath with plenty of natural light filling the room through the windows. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms: a double, a twin and a single, all sharing a similar homely feel.

One of the best ways to explore the beauty of the coast is by taking a walk on the South West Coast Path. The trail from Seaton to Sidmouth stretches for just under 9 miles on relatively challenging terrain which rewards you with panoramic viewpoints, interesting flora and whimsical wildlife. In the opposite direction, you’ll find the iconic location of Lyme Regis (7 miles) with its fascinating fossil museum and picturesque seaside resort where endless hours of family fun can be had.

Stayed at Mulberry Mews, Seaton, Devon for a week. We stay in Seaton on a regular basis as I have elderly parents living there. This was our first time at Mulberry Mews, and our last. The garden is completely overgrown. It could be lovely with some TLC spent on it. The neighbours dog kept jumping over the fence running into the cottage chasing our little dog all over the house. The blind in the twin room didn't go down at night time put a duvet up at the window. The cottage was generally unclean. Cobwebs even in the cutlery draw. Found underwear under the bed. I'm sorry to put such a bad review but it was unacceptable when you pay nearly £800 for a week. We have stayed in a lot of properties with the Original Cottages company and all have been lovely. I'm afraid not this one .

Oh yes .. the outdoor space is diabolical. My first job on arrival was to remove a dead seagull. The greenery was out of control. No one could possibly sit outside. The paths were covered in bird poo and the dog and little one had to be carried outside as very dirty. The blind in the second bedroom was broken and didn’t close. This property is for a maximum of 3 adults at a lush we felt claustrophobic and left a day early as couldn’t cope with the time inside the property. Would not recommend to anyone
