Broom Cottage in Devon is praised for its exceptional facilities, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful touches like wine and fudge. Its peaceful location near the Donkey Sanctuary and the sea is appreciated, though own transport is recommended. Some concerns about road maintenance and cleanliness were noted.
Most guests found Broom Cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with several reviews highlighting its spotlessness. However, a few guests mentioned issues such as dust, a dirty extractor fan, and minor oversights upon arrival, which slightly impacted the overall impression of cleanliness.
The cottage's location is frequently described as peaceful and excellent, close to the Donkey Sanctuary and within reach of the sea. The rural setting is ideal for a quiet getaway, though the mention of a poorly lit approach road and the necessity of own transport slightly affects the score.
Guests consistently report that the cottage is comfortable, with tasteful furniture and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The beds are noted to be very comfortable, and the property is equipped for a cosy stay, contributing to a high comfort level.
The cottage is well-equipped with necessary appliances and offers a good standard of facilities. However, several reviews mention the poor condition of the access road with potholes, and some maintenance issues like the bathroom extractor fan, which detract from the overall experience.
Many guests were delighted by the thoughtful gestures of wine and fudge upon arrival, contributing to a welcoming experience. While these gifts are mentioned positively, it is important to note that such gestures are at the discretion of the owners and may not be a consistent offering.
