Mount View is a well-received cottage in UPLYME, Dorset, praised for its cleanliness, stunning views, and ideal location for walks and access to Lyme Regis. The property's garden is appreciated by both children and pets, and guests feel welcomed by its homely touches. Some guests noted areas for improvement in comfort and facilities, but overall experiences have been positive, with many looking forward to returning.
The property consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews highlighting it as clean and well-prepared. This suggests that cleanliness is a strong point for Mount View.
The location is frequently praised for its beautiful views and proximity to Lyme Regis and the Jurassic coast. The convenience of a nearby bus stop is also noted, indicating a favourable location.
While many guests find the property comfortable, there are comments about the need for better mattresses and more comfortable sofas. The mixed feedback suggests that comfort is generally good, but with room for improvement.
Facilities are generally well-regarded, especially the well-equipped kitchen. However, some guests mention that the property could benefit from updates to the kitchen and bathrooms, and there is confusion about the recycling system.
There are positive comments about the homely touches and a welcome pack, which indicate thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not consistently mentioned across the reviews, it is not possible to guarantee their provision, and thus a score cannot be accurately assigned.

Perfect for families, the bungalow rests in magnificent, enclosed gardens which are the ideal spot for spending time alfresco; children and pets can run around safely while adults can chill out and relax in peace so everyone is a winner! If the weather allows, then why not fire up the barbecue? Moving inside, the property is just as inviting with a light and airy sitting room welcoming guests with an extensive seating area and beautiful views from the large windows. The small but perfectly formed rustic-style kitchen is well equipped for everything you need to cook for the family and the dining area is a great space for gathering together and catching up with holiday news. The beautiful countryside surrounding the village of Uplyme, on the borders of Devon and Dorset, is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, criss-crossed by bridleways and footpaths including the East Devon Way, and providing perfect country walks and superb views. The area was chosen by TV chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall for his River Cottage HQ at Park Farm, where you can treat yourself to a great meal. Just a short drive takes you to the stunning Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis. This delightful historic seaside town boasts a maze of narrow streets, with an interesting array of shops and cafes, whilst the sandy beach lends itself to great bathing and watersports, and the bustling little harbour offers regular fishing trips, or try your hand at fossil hunting. The one in the small double room is hard as rocks and mouldy ( could be serious for someone with health issues) The other mattresses are over soft. If guests cannot get a healthy good nights sleep it can ruin a holiday. The microwave cannot be timed as the control is either on or off. The garden is not dog friendly as unless you have a small car the gate cannot be shut.It is not clear that there is only one toilet and no sink in that, so causes a problem if the bathroom is in use as well The other facilities were fine and the bungalow was clean. The welcome pack and information file etc were good.

It is very well equipped with everything you could need in the kitchen. Lovely walks to Lyme Regis. Great not to have to use the car. There are a couple of points to consider with this property though. The property suited us as 2 adults, a teenager and a dog. However I canât really see it working with 6 people as itâs advertised for due to the size of the kitchen/dinning room and seating in the lounge. The garden is secure which is great if you have a dog, However, it should be noted the gates on the driveway need to be shut to achieve this. We donât have a large car so we were able to manoeuvre our car to be able to shut them. Not sure how easy this would be with a large car and certainly not with 2 cars. Unfortunately we didnât find the sofas or mattresses particularly comfortable which meant no great night sleep for anyone. Overall the great weather and setting of the property meant we enjoyed our week away but I would be unlikely to return to this property.

Bright, clean and comfortable. Almost next to a bus stop. A grab bar for the shower would be a useful addition for us oldiesâ¦.just an observation not a complaint.
